The Opportunity

The Senior Azure Systems Administrator will serve as a technical leader in implementing, securing, and managing Meriton’s Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure. This role will focus heavily on system management, IT governance compliance, automation, ensuring seamless connectivity across disparate applications and business systems. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud security frameworks, service management practices, and integration with enterprise applications such as Microsoft Dynamics, ERP, and third-party SaaS solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure.
  • Create, configure, and manage Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking, identity, and platform services) to meet business and security requirements.
  • Maintain and support legacy on-premise servers and associated processes while planning and executing migration to modern cloud services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
  • Integrate Azure with enterprise applications, databases, and third-party SaaS platforms to ensure smooth and secure operations.
  • Implement and enforce cloud security standards, including identity and access management, encryption, threat detection, and compliance monitoring.
  • Ensure systems are implemented and maintained with monitoring, alerting, and capacity management to support high availability and uptime requirements.
  • Provide 24x7 operational support for mission-critical systems, maintaining service continuity and minimizing downtime.
  • Manage hybrid and virtualized environments with familiarity in multiple virtualization methods.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and system management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Azure Resource Manager templates.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and business teams to enable secure CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Apply IT Service Management (ITSM) practices in daily operations.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex infrastructure and application integration issues.
  • Stay current with industry trends, particularly in cloud security, service management, and Azure services.

The Required Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant systems/cloud experience; 7 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in Azure cloud administration and security best practices.
  • Strong background in application and system integration (ERP, CRM, SaaS).
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices (e.g., ITIL).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Azure CLI).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), automation frameworks, and DevOps workflows.
  • Skilled in monitoring, alerting, and capacity management to ensure high up time.
  • Experience providing 24x7 operational support in enterprise environments.
  • Experience maintaining on-premise infrastructure and migrating workloads to cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
  • Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, and cloud-based security frameworks.
  • Relevant certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Security Engineer Associate, Dynamics 365 Fundamentals, ITIL) are highly desirable.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer and related equipment. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
