Senior Manager, Working Capital 

Reports To: Director of Working Capital

Department: Shared Services Center (SSC) – Working Capital

Location: Irving, TX

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Role Summary

Scope: U.S. operations; cross-functional leadership across AP, AR, Treasury interface, and governance teams. Acts as proxy for the Director of Working Capital in transformation, system, and process forums.

Team: Matrix leadership across Managers and functional leads within AP and AR; no direct FTEs initially. 

The Senior Manager, Working Capital drives the strategic modernization and scalability of Meriton’s Working Capital processes, spanning Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Intercompany, and Treasury coordination within the Shared Services Center. Reporting directly to the Director of Working Capital, this role operates as a business integrator and transformation lead, responsible for aligning systems, processes, controls, and people around a unified finance operating model. The Senior Manager serves as the Director’s proxy, representing Working Capital in key transformation programs, cross-functional design workshops, and business readiness reviews. The position requires a unique blend of functional accounting expertise, technology acumen, and change leadership, capable of translating strategic finance goals into executable roadmaps while ensuring control integrity and operational sustainability. 

Shared Services & Scale Priorities 

  • Enterprise Integration: Align Working Capital processes across AP, AR, and Treasury under a unified governance and performance framework. 
  • Transformation Leadership: Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline, automate, and scale working capital operations as Meriton grows rapidly. 
  • Technology Enablement: Act as the Finance business owner for system modernization (D365, ExFlow, RPA, AI, OCR, Power BI). 
  • Operational Scalability: Design process, data, and organizational models that support exponential volume growth without linear headcount expansion. 
  • Governance & Controls: Strengthen financial control frameworks to support audit readiness, segregation of duties, and balance sheet integrity. 
  • Business Partnership: Serve as liaison between Finance, IT, Procurement, and Commercial functions for transformation delivery and issue resolution. 

Core Responsibilities 

Transformation & Change Leadership 

  • Lead working capital transformation projects across AP, AR, and Treasury to drive end-to-end process efficiency. 
  • Develop and execute transformation roadmaps aligned to SSC strategy, digital finance roadmap, and automation pipeline. 
  • Represent Working Capital in ERP, ExFlow, and banking system enhancements, ensuring design aligns with accounting and control requirements. 
  • Drive cross-functional working sessions for process standardization, role clarity, and SLA alignment. 
  • Manage stakeholder communication, readiness planning, and post-implementation stabilization for all major process changes. 

Process Standardization & Optimization 

  • Map current-state P2P and O2C processes, identify gaps, and lead future-state design. 
  • Embed Lean and Six Sigma methodologies into continuous improvement routines. 
  • Establish and maintain standardized work instructions, RACI charts, and escalation paths across business units. 
  • Lead recurring transformation reviews with SSC leadership and Controllership. 

Systems, Data, and Automation 

  • Partner with IT and the AP/AR Technology teams to define functional requirements, test enhancements, and validate automation outcomes. 
  • Support implementation of OCR, RPA, and AI solutions that reduce manual intervention in billing, collections, and invoice processing. 
  • Oversee development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and working capital analytics suites. 
  • Ensure consistent, clean master data across D365, ExFlow, and related subledgers. 

Governance, Controls & Close Readiness 

  • Strengthen control frameworks across working capital cycles; ensure accurate and timely reconciliation between subledger and GL. 
  • Partner with the Staff Accountant and Governance & Close teams to ensure audit compliance. 
  • Oversee remediation of process and control findings arising from audits or transformation testing. 
  • Ensure transformation initiatives do not compromise accounting accuracy or control requirements. 

Leadership & Representation 

  • Act as the Director’s proxy in transformation, ERP governance, and finance design committees. 
  • Coordinate with AP, AR, Treasury, and FP&A leaders to ensure alignment between operational efficiency and liquidity management. 
  • Represent Working Capital in executive and cross-functional steering meetings when the Director is unavailable. 
  • Mentor and develop process leads, analysts, and project participants to strengthen transformation capability within SSC. 

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • With AP & AR Managers: Align on system requirements, close cadence, and automation opportunities. 
  • With Treasury: Coordinate process improvements in disbursement timing, cash application, and reconciliation. 
  • With Controllership: Ensure compliance and accuracy during transformation-related accounting design changes. 
  • With Procurement & Commercial Operations: Optimize invoice-to-cash and procure-to-pay linkages. 
  • With IT & Finance Transformation: Co-lead automation and ERP roadmap delivery. 
  • With FP&A: Align working capital forecasts and reporting automation. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; MBA or CPA preferred. 
  • 10–12 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance operations, or shared services. 
  • Strong command of Microsoft D365 F&O, ExFlow, and related AP/AR modules. 
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale finance transformation or ERP implementation initiatives. 
  • Deep understanding of functional accounting, reconciliation, and working capital optimization. 
  • Experience with automation tools (RPA, AI, OCR) and BI/reporting platforms (Power BI, SQL). 
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, lead cross-functional teams, and drive decisions in complex environments. 
  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth settings with multiple competing priorities. 
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
