The Role
Mortgage Operations Manager
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Mortgage Operations Manager to oversee the execution and ongoing operations of an independent mortgage brokerage firm. This role will be responsible for coordinating entity formation, licensing, compliance, technology integration, customer experience, and overall operational efficiency.
How you’ll make an impact
- Entity Formation & Licensing: Work closely with legal and compliance teams on formation of an LLC or INC and manage corporate filings in multiple states.
- Licensing: Coordinate NMLS filings for mortgage brokerage activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Compliance Management: Oversee state and federal regulatory updates, manage quality control processes, and prepare for audits and examinations. Ensure the brokerage adheres to compliance policies set by Absolute Home Mortgage.
- Consumer Mortgage Application Experience: Oversee the mortgage processing workflow, application, and experience.
- Operations & Process Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the mortgage brokerage division. Develop and implement efficient workflows for loan origination, processing, and closing. Create and manage systems to track loan applications, approvals, and disbursements.
- Technology Management: Coordinate system integrations.
- Team Leadership: Scale team from QI, loan officers, etc.
Requirements
- Proven experience (7+ years) in mortgage brokerage operations or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of NMLS licensing and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with Loan Origination Systems (Encompass 360 or similar).
- Experience managing corporate filings and regulatory documentation.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Knowledge of third-party origination and consumer mortgage processing.
