Overview

Mesh is seeking a highly experienced Managing Director to launch, lead, and grow our European operations. This senior executive will be responsible for securing regulatory approvals, overseeing EU compliance, and driving growth through business development, strategic partnerships, and market expansion. You’ll work closely with Mesh’s global leadership team—including Legal, Compliance,l and Regulatory counterparts—to shape our regulatory posture, establish a strong EU presence, and align regional operations with global strategy.

We’re looking for a proven leader with deep expertise in EU crypto and financial regulations (MiCA, DORA, PSD), significant experience in regulated financial services, and a track record of scaling high-growth businesses in complex regulatory environments.

Requirements

• Lead Mesh’s EU operations, overseeing regulatory compliance (MiCA, DORA, PSD), licensing, and engagement with EU/national regulators.
• Own the EU business strategy, drive market expansion, and manage P&L for the regulated entity.
• Build and scale operational infrastructure, including AML/CFT, risk management, and capital adequacy frameworks.
• Develop and lead a high-performing team across operations, commercial functions, business development, compliance, and regulatory functions.
• Represent Mesh in regulatory discussions, industry groups, and policy development initiatives. 
• Grow and maintain Mesh’s European strategic partnerships.
• Align closely with global leadership to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and compliance across jurisdictions.

Qualifications 

• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in regulated financial services, fintech, or crypto
• 5+ years of deep engagement in EU crypto regulation and licensing
• P&L leadership for a €50M+ business unit or regulated entity
• Proven success working with EU regulators (e.g., ESMA, EBA) and navigating frameworks like MiCA, DORA, PSD, GDPR, AML/CFT
• Strong understanding of crypto infrastructure (wallets, custody, trading, payments)
  Exceptional strategic, operational, and cross-functional leadership skills
• Clean regulatory record and ability to meet “fit and proper” standards
• Fluency in English required; Dutch is a plus
• Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, the Netherlands
