About Vessel 

Vessel is a private event venue located on the 3rd floor of ROOST Baltimore. Set along the Patapsco River, Vessell offers a distinctive backdrop for gatherings, where maritime heritage meets exceptional small bites and handcrafted cocktails. From thoughtful breakfast luncheons to festive holiday parties to intimate cocktails soirees, our picturesque space sets the scene for unforgettable occasions. Our team is committed to delivering thoughtful, elevated hospitality rooted in warmth, knowledge, and genuine connection. 

We are building a reliable team of experienced Event Staff to support private events, banquets, and special functions at Vessel. This role is ideal for seasoned hospitality professionals who are confident in both banquetstyle service and bartending. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Provide polished banquetstyle service, including tray passing, table service, and event flow support 
  • Bartend confidently and responsibly, following all service standards and alcohol safety guidelines 
  • Greet guests warmly and maintain an upbeat, positive presence throughout service 
  • Set up event spaces and bar stations, including prepping product and ensuring readiness for expected covers 
  • Offer full service to guests at the bar when appropriate, incorporating established Vessel service standards 
  • Communicate clearly with barbacks and support staff regarding expectations and shift needs 
  • Maintain rotation of clean, polished glassware and ensure all service items are stocked 
  • Handle cash and close guest tabs accurately 
  • Keep all service areas clean, organized, and guestready at all times 
  • Follow proper product rotation, qualitychecking dayold prep before use 
  • Complete cleaning duties during downtime and ensure restocking before clocking out 
  • Perform all closing duties thoroughly at the end of each shift 
  • Support the team with additional tasks to ensure seamless event execution 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Banquet service experience required 
  • Bartending experience required (1-3 years in an upscale setting preferred) 
  • Strong knowledge of classic and current food & beverage trends 
  • Excellent communication skills and a polished, professional demeanor 
  • Ability to multitask in a highvolume, fastpaced environment 
  • Teamoriented mindset with a strong work ethic 
  • Dependability and comfort working part time or flexible/oncall shifts 
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences 

Working Conditions 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move for 8–10 hours per shift 
  • Agility to navigate fastpaced service areas efficiently 
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move items up to 50 lbs 
  • Work environment may require frequent movement between indoor and event spaces
