Position Summary:

The Director, Charter School Banking, is responsible for developing and managing the bank’s relationships with charter schools, charter management organizations (CMO’s) and education-focused nonprofits.  The role leads business development, relationship management, credit coordination, treasury management, and strategic financial solutions tailored to the needs of charter school organizations.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

 

  • Develop and execute the bank’s charter school banking strategy.
  • Build senior level relationships with charter school CEOs, CFOs, executive directors, board members and finance leaders.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of charter school and education- sector clients
  • Identify opportunities for deposits, treasury management, loans, lines of credit, capital financing and other banking services.
  • Partner with commercial lenders and credit teams on working capital facilities, real estate financing, construction financing and other capital needs.
  • Understand charter-school funding, enrollment trends, government funding, grants, and financial reporting requirements
  • Analyze financial statements, budgets, audits cash flow and financial projections to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Coordinate with credit, treasury management, risk, compliance and legal teams to structure appropriate solutions
  • Develop relationships with charter schools networks, authorizers, education associations, and other industry organizations.
  • Provide senior management with market intelligence and recommendations for expanding the bank’s charter-school business.
  • Represent the bank at charter-school conferences, community events, and industry forums.
  • Mentor relationship managers and other bankers on the charter-school segment

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics or Accounting or related field
  • 8-12+ years of banking, commercial lending, relationship management, or financial services experience. Experience working with charter schools, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, or government funded organizations preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit, treasury management, deposits, and financial analysis
  • Demonstrate ability to develop C-suite and board level relationships
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication
  • Driven by a passion and curiosity to continuously learn how various technological systems, including AI, can enhance the work that you do.

 

Potential Salary: $180,000 - $215,000 annually

This salary range reflects base wages and does not include benefits, bonus, or incentive pay. Salary bands are purposefully wide ranging to encompass the different factors considered in determining where a candidate falls in the range, including but not limited to, seniority, performance, experience, education, and any other legitimate, non-discriminatory factor permitted by law. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
