Senior Manager of Physician Liaison
Metro Vein Centers is a rapidly growing healthcare practice specializing in state-of-the-art vein treatments. Our board-certified physicians and expert staff are on a mission to improve people’s quality of life by relieving the painful, yet highly treatable symptoms of vein disease—such as varicose veins and heavy, aching legs.
With over 60 clinics across 7 states, and still growing, we’re building the future of vein care—delivering compassionate, results-driven care in a modern, patient-first environment.
We proudly maintain a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 93, the highest patient satisfaction in the industry.
This is a player-coach role. For the first 6 months, you will carry a full territory yourself — hitting the pavement, visiting 10-15 offices per day, booking lunches, building referral relationships, and proving the in-person liaison model works at MVC. You will simultaneously build the program infrastructure: orientation manual, territory maps, HubSpot dashboards, and compensation framework.
Once you have proven the model in your own territory and demonstrated results, you will earn the right to hire and manage a team.
Phase 1: Player (Months 1-6)
You ARE the liaison program. Your daily life:
- Carry a full territory (assigned at onboarding based on your location and highest-priority market)
- Conduct 10-15 in-person office visits per day to PCPs, podiatrists, family medicine, wound care
- Build face-to-face relationships with referral coordinators, front desk staff, and physicians
- Educate referring offices on chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) symptoms — this is education-first, not just sales
- Schedule and attend physician lunches with MVC doctors
- Log every visit, call, and meeting in HubSpot CRM same-day
- Deliver collateral, referral pads, swag, and CVI symptom guides
- Attend health fairs, community events, and ribbon cuttings for new clinic openings
- Generate measurable referral patient volume in your territory — this is how you prove the model
While simultaneously building infrastructure:
- Develop MVC's Physician Liaison Orientation Manual
- Define territory maps by county for all 9 states
- Build HubSpot dashboards for liaison activity tracking and referral attribution
- Design the team compensation framework
- Partner with Marketing on educational collateral development
- Partner with Operations to ensure referral attribution is being captured
- Begin sourcing and screening liaison candidates so you're ready to hire when approved
Qualifications
Required
- 4+ years of outside sales experience in healthcare (pharmaceutical, medical device, home health, or physician liaison)
- Proven personal track record of building physician referral relationships from scratch — not managing someone else's book
- Comfortable being in the field 4-5 days per week for the first 6 months
- Experience eventually building and managing a field-based team (even if small)
- CRM fluency (HubSpot preferred) — comfortable logging activity and building reports
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance: Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA
- Self-directed, low-ego, high-accountability
- Familiarity with one or more MVC markets (TX, NY, NJ, MI, CT, AZ)
- Willingness to travel 30-50% in months 6-12 for hiring, training, and territory setup
