Director of Physician Liaison Program
Metro Vein Centers is a rapidly growing healthcare practice specializing in state-of-the-art vein treatments. Our board-certified physicians and expert staff are on a mission to improve people’s quality of life by relieving the painful, yet highly treatable symptoms of vein disease—such as varicose veins and heavy, aching legs.
With over 60 clinics across 7 states, and still growing, we’re building the future of vein care—delivering compassionate, results-driven care in a modern, patient-first environment.
We proudly maintain a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 93, the highest patient satisfaction in the industry.
This is a builder and leader role. You will stand up MVC's physician liaison program from the ground up — hiring and managing an initial team of 3 liaisons and scaling the function to cover all of Metro Vein's markets. You will simultaneously build the program infrastructure: orientation manual, territory maps, HubSpot dashboards, and compensation framework.
Responsibilities
- Hire, onboard, and manage an initial team of 3 physician liaisons, with a mandate to scale the team across all MVC markets over time
- Set activity standards and coach the team on in-person office visits to PCPs, podiatrists, family medicine, and wound care practices
- Build face-to-face relationships with key referral coordinators, front desk staff, and physicians in priority markets
- Ensure the team is educating referring offices on chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) symptoms — this is education-first, not just sales
- Oversee physician lunches with MVC doctors and high-value field events
- Enforce same-day HubSpot CRM logging of every visit, call, and meeting
- Oversee distribution of collateral, referral pads, swag, and CVI symptom guides
- Represent MVC at health fairs, community events, and ribbon cuttings for new clinic openings
- Drive measurable referral patient volume across the team's territories
Program Infrastructure
- Develop MVC's Physician Liaison Orientation Manual
- Define territory maps by county for all 9 states
- Build HubSpot dashboards for liaison activity tracking and referral attribution
- Design the team compensation framework
- Partner with Marketing on educational collateral development
- Partner with Operations to ensure referral attribution is being captured
- Source, screen, and hire liaison candidates as the program scales
Qualifications
Required
- 4+ years of outside sales experience in healthcare (pharmaceutical, medical device, home health, or physician liaison)
- Proven track record of building and managing a field-based team of physician liaisons or healthcare sales reps
- Demonstrated history of building physician referral relationships from scratch
- CRM fluency (HubSpot preferred) — comfortable logging activity and building reports
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance: Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA
- Self-directed, low-ego, high-accountability
- Familiarity with one or more MVC markets (TX, NY, NJ, MI, CT, AZ)
- Willingness to travel 30-50% for hiring, training, and territory setup
Compensation for this role varies based on years of experience, skill set, and alignment with position requirements.
Compensation:
$140,000 - $170,000 USD
