Physician Liaison
Metro Vein Centers is a rapidly growing healthcare practice specializing in state-of-the-art vein treatments. Our board-certified physicians and expert staff are on a mission to improve people’s quality of life by relieving the painful, yet highly treatable symptoms of vein disease—such as varicose veins and heavy, aching legs.
With over 70 clinics across 8 states, and still growing, we’re building the future of vein care—delivering compassionate, results-driven care in a modern, patient-first environment.
We proudly maintain a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 93, the highest patient satisfaction in the industry.
As a Physician Liaison, you will be the boots-on-the-ground relationship builder driving referral growth in the Detroit, MI territory. Working directly in the field, you will build and maintain trusted face-to-face relationships with primary care physicians, podiatrists, family medicine practices, and clinical staff — leveraging these relationships to drive referral volume and hit targeted/budgeted goals. This is an education-first, relationship-driven sales role focused on educating providers on Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) and expanding patient access to specialized vein care. In this role, you will report to the National Director of Referral Development.
This role requires minimal to no overnight travel. The expectation is approximately 90% of time spent in the field within your territory, with the remaining 10% dedicated to administrative work.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person field visits to PCPs, podiatrists, family medicine, and wound care practices across the Detroit Metro Area, with an expectation of 10-15 in-person activities per day.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with physicians, referral coordinators, and front desk staff to establish MVC as the preferred vein care referral partner.
- Maintain a high level of collaboration with internal physicians and operational staff — this is critical to success in the role.
- Educate clinical teams on CVI symptoms, treatment options, and patient identification—focusing on educational value rather than traditional hard selling.
- Organize and coordinate physician lunch-and-learns, doctor-to-doctor introductions, and local field events in your market.
- Log all office visits, interactions, and follow-ups in HubSpot CRM within 24 hours.
- Distribute educational collateral, referral pads, practice materials, and branded collateral to referring offices.
- Represent MVC at local community events, health fairs, and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new clinic openings in the region.
- Drive measurable referral patient volume and grow market share across your designated territory to meet targeted/budgeted goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: College degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
- Experience: 2–4+ years of outside sales or field territory management experience in healthcare (vein care, pharmaceutical, medical device, home health, lab, or physician liaison experience preferred).
- Relationship Building: Proven track record of cold outreach, territory mapping, and developing healthcare provider relationships from scratch.
- CRM Fluency: Proficient in CRM tracking (HubSpot preferred) for logging daily activity, tracking outreach, and monitoring referral progress.
- Healthcare Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations (Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA).
- Mindset: Self-motivated, high-accountability, competitive drive, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Territory Familiarity: Local knowledge of the healthcare landscape and provider networks in the Detroit Metro Area.
- Travel: Minimal to no overnight travel; field-based role requiring daily local travel within territory (~90% field time).
