
Property Accountant II

Property Accountant II is responsible for supporting Accounting Manager with assigned properties’ financial records. Must be familiar with all aspects of property management, accounting. The Property Accountant II is directly responsible for the portfolio of properties’ accounting functions such as posting transactions, running reports, reconciling accounts and interacting with the Community and Regional Managers.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles for application of day to day responsibilities
• Prepares monthly journal entries and accruals as required
• Processes A/R checks
• Reviews A/R entries on a daily basis, solving any discrepancies as necessary in a timely manner
• Reviews A/P entries such as utilities, recurring and regular invoices that are processed by A/P Clerks
• Processes Security Deposit Check Requests within scheduled deadline
• Processes write offs and collections
• Processes monthly loan payments. Reconciles mortgage impound balances accordingly
• Prepares bank reconciliations
• Prepares monthly & quarterly property reports within scheduled deadlines
• Analyzes monthly & quarterly financial statements and budgets
• Tracks delinquency / aging and contacts Property Managers accordingly
• Reviews weekly property account balances in order to manage cash flow effectively
• Forecasts cash flow and cash management in a timely basis
• Works closely with Property Managers and Regional Managers to help reconcile tenants accounts/ledgers
• Participates in preparing and auditing materials requiring analyses of supporting documents and insures that all entries are entered into the system properly
• Prepares Year End 1099’s for Accounting Manager’s review
• Assists Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager for property taxes and insurance audits
• Adjusts errors and discrepancies
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assists in training A/P Clerks
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Experience, Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, or actively working towards a degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field (Highly Preferred)
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years Accounting experience
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of Property Management / Real Estate experience
Additional Skills, Abilities, and Characteristics Required:
- Knowledge of and ability to use property management/accounting software, database software, spreadsheet software, Internet and Email software
- The ability to work independently and effectively in a fast paced environment

Compensation and Benefits:
- $60,000-$65,000/annual DOE
- Company profit sharing

California pay range
$60,000 - $65,000 USD
