About the Role

MGT Insurance is seeking a dedicated Underwriter to join our small commercial team. As an Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, analyzing and making decisions to achieve profitable results.  The ideal candidate will recognize exposures to loss, identify coverage alternatives, and be a resource to support our broker partners in the production and servicing of profitable business. As a potential future leader in our organization, you will play a key role in maintaining our reputation in the insurance industry while building a rewarding career with ample room for advancement. Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for the Underwriter position at MGT Insurance will possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in risk management or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in underwriting small commercial in excess and surplus lines market.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using office software and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, solve problems efficiently, and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure is also necessary.
  • Completion of CPCU is highly desirable, as are other professional insurance designations.
  • You are fearless when it comes to solving problems, diving into data to get to the right answer, or just getting things done, and are open to doing what it takes to help make the company and yourself successful.
  • You have an ability to attract like-minded team members who can help grow the team.

Estimated Salary

$60,000 - $120,000 per year
