Senior Social Media Manager (Contract)
Senior Social Media Manager - Contract- Maternity leave coverage
We’re building the most trusted, evidence-based education platform in women’s midlife health—and social is one of our most powerful growth and cultural channels.
This isn’t a “post and report” social role. This is an opportunity to help make Midi the most trusted, talked-about, and shared voice in midlife health by creating platform-native content that reaches millions of women, earns meaningful engagement, drives brand relevance, and supports real business outcomes.
We’re looking for a Senior Social Media Manager to lead the strategy and execution of Midi’s social presence during a maternity leave coverage period. This person will be responsible for continuing to develop our social vision, building scalable content systems, driving creative execution, and using insights and analytics to grow our audience and deepen our connection with women navigating midlife health.
The ideal candidate is equal parts creative strategist, social-first storyteller, data-driven operator, and cultural observer—someone who is deeply connected to how people engage online and knows how to turn brand purpose into content that resonates.
About the Role
As Senior Social Media Manager, you will own the day-to-day strategy, creative direction, and execution of Midi’s social channels, including: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, and YouTube. You’ll help define how Midi shows up culturally, build community, create content that earns attention, and establish social as a meaningful driver of brand awareness, engagement, and growth.
Reporting to the Director of Content, you’ll partner closely with influencer, creative, growth, integrated, lifecycle, community, editorial, PR, and clinical teams to ensure social insights and storytelling are integrated across the customer journey.
What You’ll Do
Own and evolve Midi’s social strategy
- Develop and execute Midi’s social media strategy across platforms, defining content pillars, audience engagement strategies, and channel priorities.
- Establish platform-specific approaches that balance brand consistency with native social behavior.
- Stay ahead of platform updates, emerging formats, and cultural trends to continuously evolve our approach.
- Identify opportunities to increase brand awareness, share of voice, and community engagement in women’s midlife health.
Build social-first content and creative systems
- Own the social content calendar and oversee content development from concept through publishing.
- Create and refine workflows that enable consistent, high-quality, platform-native execution.
- Partner with creative, design, video, and external partners to bring social concepts to life.
- Develop content that educates, entertains, inspires conversation, and fuels word-of-mouth.
Drive growth through analytics and experimentation
- Analyze channel performance, audience behavior, and cultural trends to optimize content strategy.
- Lead test-and-learn experiments across platforms, formats, and storytelling approaches.
- Translate social insights into actionable recommendations for marketing and brand teams.
Build community and shape conversations
- Develop content and engagement strategies that deepen relationships with patients and prospective customers.
- Monitor social conversations and identify opportunities to participate in and lead cultural moments around women’s health.
- Partner with community, PR, and influencer teams to amplify meaningful moments and manage reactive opportunities.
- Use audience feedback to inform broader marketing and customer insights.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- 7+ years of social media experience at a consumer brand, agency, or high-growth organization with demonstrated success growing audiences and driving engagement.
- Proven experience building and scaling social presence across multiple platforms.
- A portfolio showcasing social-first creative thinking, platform-native storytelling, and measurable results.
- Strong understanding of social strategy, content creation, community building, paid media, analytics, and digital consumer behavior.
- Ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution, including content development, production, and publishing.
- Strong creative instincts with excellent writing and storytelling skills.
- Deep knowledge of social platforms, emerging trends, algorithms, and online culture.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to inform creative decisions.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt quickly.
Bonus Points
- Experience in healthcare, women’s health, wellness, or another high-trust category.
- Experience with creator, influencer, or ambassador programs
- Startup or high-growth company experience.
