Onboarding Specialist
MidPen Housing is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Onboarding Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless and engaging onboarding experience for new hires. The Onboarding Specialist will work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to support new employees from offer acceptance through their first days, leveraging the ADP platform to manage onboarding workflows and documentation.
Responsibilities:
New Hire Onboarding:
- Coordinate and execute onboarding processes for all new hires using the ADP Workforce Now platform.
- Ensure timely completion of onboarding tasks including I-9 verification, background checks, and benefits enrollment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date onboarding documentation and records.
Collaboration with Talent Acquisition:
- Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to ensure smooth transitions from candidate to employee.
- Provide feedback and insights to improve the onboarding experience and address any gaps.
- Provide candidate sourcing support when needed to the TA team
New Hire Experience:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during the onboarding process.
- Facilitate welcome communications, orientation scheduling, and first-day logistics.
- Monitor and enhance the new hire experience through surveys, check-ins, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Learning and Development team and Talent Acquisition Operations to ensure new hire has seamless onboarding experience
System & Process Management:
- Troubleshoot onboarding issues within ADP and escalate as needed.
- Assist in developing and maintaining onboarding templates, workflows, and training materials.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and employment regulations.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in HR, onboarding, or talent acquisition support.
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to delivering a positive and inclusive new hire experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the affordable housing or nonprofit sector.
- Familiarity with onboarding metrics and reporting.
- Bilingual in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
Pay Range
$29.00 - $36.00 Hourly - Pay based on applicable experience and qualifications
