Recruiter
As a critical member of MidPen Housing’s Talent Acquisition team, the Recruiter supports our mission by ensuring we attract, engage, and hire exceptional talent across both corporate and frontline roles. Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, this position manages full‑cycle recruiting for a broad mix of functions including property management, resident services, corporate operations, and technical roles while delivering a high‑touch, inclusive, and mission‑aligned candidate experience.
The ideal candidate is an experienced recruiter who excels in a fast‑paced environment, balances relationship‑driven service with strong process discipline, and is deeply committed to supporting MidPen’s vision of creating safe, stable, and affordable housing opportunities throughout our communities.
Responsibilities
Full‑Cycle Recruiting & Candidate Experience
- Lead end‑to‑end recruiting across multiple departments, from intake and sourcing to offer negotiation and close.
- Deliver a high‑touch, responsive, and inclusive experience for candidates at all levels—frontline, corporate, and leadership.
Sourcing & Talent Pipeline Development
- Source passive and active candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter or RecruiterLite, Greenhouse ATS, talent intelligence tools, and AI‑driven sourcing platforms.
- Build strong and diverse talent pipelines through proactive outreach, community partnerships, employer branding, and ongoing relationship management.
Strategic Partnerships
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand team needs, refine requirements, and create tailored recruiting strategies that support MidPen’s people‑first culture.
- Provide expert guidance to hiring partners on market insights, candidate profiles, process efficiency, and best practices.
Interviewing & Assessment
- Conduct initial phone and virtual screens to assess candidate qualifications, mission alignment, and fit for both frontline and corporate environments.
Communication & Process Management
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with hiring managers, stakeholders, and candidates throughout the process.
- Use metrics to track pipeline health, sourcing effectiveness, and hiring outcomes—offering insights to continuously improve recruitment strategies.
Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Stay current on trends and emerging practices in talent acquisition and recruitment technology.
Recruitment Marketing & Community Presence
- Support employer branding and recruitment marketing, including job fairs, virtual hiring events, social campaigns, and employee referral initiatives.
- Represent MidPen in the community with professionalism and warmth, reflecting our organizational mission and values.
Collaboration & Onboarding
- Work closely with HR and People Operations to ensure seamless transitions from hiring to onboarding.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to MidPen Services and MidPen Housing’s mission, values, and community impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of full‑cycle, in‑house recruiting experience, with demonstrated success hiring for both frontline and corporate roles.
- Strong experience with Greenhouse ATS (strongly preferred).
- Proven ability to source and engage talent through LinkedIn Recruiter and other digital platforms.
- Expertise in Boolean search, CRM pipelines, and AI sourcing tools.
- Comfort using recruitment analytics, dashboards, and KPIs to drive strategy.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
Physical Requirements
- Frequent use of computer and office productivity tools.
- Occasional travel for recruitment events or team meetings.
- Hybrid role: In‑office 3 days per week in Foster City, CA or Oakland, CA.
Pay Range
$85,000 - $95,000 Annually - Pay based on applicable experience and qualifications
