Software Engineer - Intern

San Francisco, CA

About Us

Midpoint Markets is a small but growing financial sciences team that applies a systematic and quantitative approach to tackle the most complex challenges in the cryptocurrency trading space. Our diverse group of scientists, engineers, and traders are committed to developing innovative, rigorous, and practical solutions to these evolving problems. Operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly competitive environment, we address a wide range of challenges and seek collaborative problem-solvers. We're searching for the brightest minds to join our team and drive forward our shared mission.

About the position

We’re seeking Software Engineer Interns for Summer of 2025 but are open to off-cycle periods as well. Our internships are generally self-contained projects with an average of two projects per internship cycle. Past intern projects have included:

  • Writing code to acquire, process, and manipulate large-scale data sets.
  • Creating tools to monitor trading activity and continuously improve our logging and monitoring systems.
  • Design, build, and implement a new system or service.

What we look for

We’re not focused on specific technical experience—whether in Python, finance, or other domains. Instead, we value smart, driven engineers with a passion for solving complex problems. We’re more interested in how you think and approach challenges than what you already know. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • A readiness to work in a 24/7 production environment.
  • A keen interest in trading.
  • A high aptitude for developing new technical skills.

Benefits
