Job Summary
As a Mechanical Technician B, you will assist in the fabrication, assembly, installation, repair, testing, checkout and inspection of mechanical spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures to complete space flight systems and support equipment. This role requires the ability to work second shift.
This position's internal job code is Spacecraft Mechanical Technician B. Our team is currently hiring for labor grade 15.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, checkout and inspect mechanical spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures
- Visually inspect mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures
- Capable of operating a wide range of machine tools. Included but not limited to, drill press, grinders, chop saw, power, and hand tools
- Mixing and application of epoxy materials
- Preparation and bonding of components to composite structures
- Support in other mechanical areas defined by Millennium Space Systems Leadership as business needs require
- Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months’ experience as a technician in aerospace or equivalent high-reliability field
- Available to work shifted or alternate work schedule when required
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers
- Strong attention to detail
- Mechanically and mathematically inclined
- Knowledgeable about various computer operating systems and software
- Ability to read schematics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a 100,000 Class clean room
Summary Pay-Range
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
- Labor Grade 15: $21.92-$32.36
Union
This is an hourly position governed by the Labor Union Carpenters Local 721 Collective Bargaining agreement.
