Job Summary
The role of the Material Project Manager (MPM) - Early Career will include, but not limited to, supporting material strategies with the Program Management Office and Manufacturing Organization, maintaining cost and schedule lead times to achieve program success, identifying and mitigating program risks and opportunities and reporting/tracking all program material activities.
This position's internal job code is Business Ops Specialist. Our team is currently hiring for level 2-3.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting Control Account Management (CAM) activities associated with material including: Baseline schedule & cost planning, providing IMS status, Estimates to Complete (ETC), Estimates At Complete (EAC), variance reporting, and other financial responsibilities.
- Provide support in identifying material related risks and opportunities and developing mitigation plans.
- Assist in aggregating all of engineering's material requirements, determining the strategy to procure items while design is matured, and translating it into Material Resource Planning (MRP) requirements.
- Assisting engineering in design trades to determine make / buy strategies, supplier sourcing, and modifications to material to achieve requirements, cost, and schedule.
- Perform analysis on material requirements to provide material program summaries that include lines of balance, issue identification, and other metrics relevant to the program scope.
- Partner with procurement organization to engage with supply base to assess costs, lead times, and strategies to achieve program requirements.
- Partnering with manufacturing organization to determine how to best ensure all parts are designed for manufacturing to prevent further issues from arising in build process.
- Execute processes and systems for tracking and reporting material-related metrics, including lead times, lines of balances, and supplier performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for program and potentially company to enhance material procurement processes, streamline workflows, and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a material management, procurement, manufacturing or supply chain management. Preferably in a DoD or government environment. Experience on design development programs preferred.
- Knowledge of material planning principles and supply chain best practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft suite.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data driven decisions.
- Ability to lead cross functional teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on programs with EVMS requirements
- Experience in desktop computing tools (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Projects)
- Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment
- Must be a self-starter, capable of supporting organizational and program objectives, and able to interface with all levels of internal management as well as supplier management.
Summary Pay-Range
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
- Level 2 - $73,950 - $108,750
- Level 3 - $93,500 - $137,500
