Finance and Revenue Cycle Manager
Department: Finance / Revenue Cycle
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Position Summary
The Finance and Revenue Cycle Manager provides day-to-day oversight of Miller Vein's financial performance and revenue cycle operations. This hands-on leadership role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong controls, effective revenue cycle performance, and clear visibility into the organization's financial health.
The Manager is expected to understand the numbers, identify trends and issues early, hold internal and external partners accountable, and provide leadership with actionable information to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Finance and Financial Management
- Manage monthly financial reporting, including P&L review, budget-to-actual performance, and variance analysis.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial planning.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and overall financial performance.
- Maintain appropriate financial controls, approval processes, and reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts payable and expense management processes.
- Coordinate with external accounting, tax, banking, payroll, and other financial partners.
- Provide financial analysis for staffing, new services, equipment, locations, and other business investments.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and control costs.
- Revenue Cycle Management
- Oversee revenue cycle performance from charge capture through payment and collections.
Revenue Cycle Management
- Monitor A/R, aging, denials, collections, charge lag, claim performance, and revenue leakage.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up on unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims.
- Identify recurring denial and reimbursement issues and coordinate corrective action.
- Monitor payer performance and reimbursement trends.
- Ensure reconciliation between services performed, charges submitted, and payments received.
- Hold external billing and RCM partners accountable for performance and service expectations.
- Support payer audits, claim reviews, and revenue-cycle-related compliance activities.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of physician-practice revenue cycle processes.
- Experience with financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Working knowledge of billing, claims, denials, A/R, reimbursement, and collections.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn financial information into action.
- Experience managing external accounting, billing, or RCM partners preferred.
- Comfortable working in a growing, hands-on healthcare organization.
