Medical Director - Psychiatrist

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 

Compensation: up to $300,000 annually (based on experience)

Location: Orlando, FL

Position Summary:

The MindCare Medical Director for our partner plays a critical leadership role, responsible for providing strategic support and oversight to the medical division within MindCare Solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • This individual will drive change management initiatives, leverage data-driven decision-making processes, and ensure the delivery of exceptional medical care across the AdventHealth East division
  • Patient Care: Provide 36 hours weekly of direct patient care, ensuring the delivery of
    compassionate, patient-centered care that meets the unique needs of individuals and promotes positive health outcomes. The physicians clinical time will be primarily dedicated to the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit in AdventHealth DeLand with telehealth coverage of acute care services (Emergency Room and Medical Floor evaluations) to other AdventHealth East facilities.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with MindCare Solutions mission and objectives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of medical operations within the division
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts within the MindCare Solutions
    AdventHealth East medical division, fostering a culture of adaptability and innovation to address evolving healthcare landscapes and organizational priorities.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics and insights to inform decision-making processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive operational efficiencies within the AdventHealth East medical division.
  • This individual will drive change management initiatives, leverage data-driven decision-making processes, and ensure the delivery of exceptional medical care across the AdventHealth East division.
  • Clinical Excellence: Ensure the delivery of high-quality medical care and services by setting and maintaining rigorous clinical standards, protocols, and practices.
  • The Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit Responsibilities:
    In person Psychiatrist rounds at least 2 times per week
    2. Participate in daily treatment team to review admission barriers, continuum of care for current patients, and discharge planning.
    a. For #1 and #2, potential model redesign, altering these
    requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Director experience preferred
  • 2 years of inpatient experience required
  • Experience with Substance Use Disorders
  • Psychiatrist is required to be licensed in FL 
  • Board Certified or Eligible (within 1 year of residency completion) in Psychiatry   
  • Valid and unrestricted DEA  
  • Must be proficient in using Telemedicine technologies to treat patients remotely
