We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, goal-oriented Senior Director, Market Access to support the development and implementation of market access strategy and reimbursement tactical plans which demonstrate the values of MindMed products to a diverse set of stakeholders. The incumbent candidate will be highly experienced and knowledgeable in designing market access strategy,

identifying evidentiary needs, developing reimbursement mechanism, creating value dossiers and resources for the effective engagement and communication of the value proposition of these products.  

The role will report to the Vice President, Market Access, Pricing and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). The level of this position will be commensurate to the degree of experience and demonstrated success of the candidate. While the focus is on the U.S. market, the candidate may be called upon to work across different time zones at times. The successful candidate is driven, curious, collaborative, with a bold ambition to contribute to ground-breaking drug development with potential to transform brain health disorders with very high unmet medical need. Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a fit for purpose market access and patient services strategy enabling broad and timely access to our therapy for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), major depressive disorder (MDD), and other mental health disorders
  • Define a reimbursement strategy supporting timely reimbursement of MindMed product(s) in relevant state and national market
  • Design and implement a compelling and innovative payer marketing communication plan to educate payers on the burden of disease, the urgent unmet need, the value proposition and provide resources leading to a pathway for coverage for MindMed portfolio of products
  • Establish an effective engagement plan enabling payer communication and assessment through pre-approval and post-approval discussion with payers
  • Identify and develop clear and implementable reimbursement pathways and applicable coding to ensure timely patient access
  • Collect payer input through payer advisory board and/or payer market research to gather stakeholder insight on payer needs and identify gaps, and to inform the development of product access and reimbursement objectives
  • Work with colleagues in Marketing, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Clinical Science, Regulatory, key opinion leaders, and selected consultants to create effective channels of engagement and communication and gain support in the formation of the value proposition and the implementation of strategy
  • Leverage data, internal and external insights, market research, market events to develop compelling value narratives
  • Monitor relevant health policy developments and provide meaningful guidance on opportunities and risks for product adoption and risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with medical affairs directors on the education and negotiation of access, coverage and reimbursement by public and private payers
  • Develop and manage deliverables such as value dossiers, reimbursement dossiers, reimbursement landscape analyses, consultant driven research projects
  • Ensure that deliverables are accomplished on time and within budget

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably Masters Degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Decision Sciences
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in market access and reimbursement, payer account management for bio/pharmaceutical products, medical devices or diagnostics
  • Deep understanding of the US payer landscape across different payer mix
  • Excellent knowledge of health system environment, ideally in more than one national or regional healthcare delivery system
  • Prior working knowledge in payer and provider reimbursement requirements and pathways
  • Prior and recent new product launch experience
  • Experience in developing tactical plan for field-based implementation
  • Demonstrated business and scientific acumen
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, strong sense of urgency, and problem-solving skills
  • Recognized as a team player with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently, with proven oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to develop valuable relationships and networks
  • Aptitude to closely collaborate and bond with an entirely remote team, willing to travel on a regular basis for in-person team meetings (projected ~25% – 30% travel)
  • Entrepreneurial, dynamic, decisive, self-motivated, attention to detail, have a sense of urgency with the ability and strong desire to make things happen

Preferred:

  • Experience in psychiatry or neuroscience related therapeutic areas

The starting base pay range for this position is $200,000.00 - $273,633.00. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
