MindMed is searching for a dynamic, experienced, and strategic Senior Director, Medical Affairs Field Leader, to join our growing Medical Affairs team. As Medical Affairs Field Leader, you will be responsible for leading strategic planning and management of a team of MSLs.

This person will hire, manage, and develop a team of MSLs to implement field initiatives aligned with MindMed Medical Affairs objectives. The MA, Field Leader is a member of the MindMed Medical Affairs Leadership Team and will work closely with Medical Affairs, clinical, HEOR, and commercial leads to ensure field activity and direction are aligned with overall MindMed strategy and goals. The MA Field Leader will ensure the development of training materials, external and internal field material best practices and SOPs that are compliant with FDA guidance, Pharma code, and MindMed policies.

Responsibilities:

Field Team Leadership & Training

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to a team of regional MSLs
  • Work closely with the Medical Affair Leadership to recruit and build a new MA Field Team of high performance MSLs
  • Develop training modules for field team
  • Share knowledge and participate in scientific exchanges and interactions with identified Thought Leaders as needed

Strategic Field Direction

  • Oversee the development and implementation of effective MSLs goals and field plans to ensure alignment with strategic medical plans
  • Strategic partner to Medical Affairs Leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Create education and presentation materials in support of internal and external customer needs ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal guidelines

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Identify and support MSLs cross functional engagements and build key strategic relationships internally and with external stakeholders including HEOR, clinical, preclinical, operations, commerical, marketing
  • Develop effective strategies to communicate key clinical/ research and medical insights from industry leaders to appropriate internal partners to shape company research, development, and commercial strategies
  • Support MindMed R&D Strategy, Clinical and Operation teams as needed
  • Work with Clinical Development teams to identify areas of need for Phase 4 studies

Scientific Engagement and Insights Generation

  • Identify and engage internal and external stakeholders to gain insights, and provide education on MindMed products and disease state
  • Attend and manage the organization, planning, and facilitation of field engagements at scientific and medical conferences

Operational Excellence

  • Develop and and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to reach pre-determined metrics
  • Lead strategic enhancements of CRM systems with IT to support collection, organization, and communication of Field Medical/ MSLs/CTLs engagements
  • Management of Field Medical Affairs budget
  • Comfortable working with mulitple outside vendors

Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD)
  • 10 plus years of industry experience with demonstrated high-level professional knowledge and skills in the areas of medical affairs and R&D
  • A minimum of at least 3 years of experience managing and leading field-based clinical/medical science liaisons in Psychiatry is required.  Experience in both pre launch and post-launch is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead successful cross-functional teams in changing and competitive environments
  • Demonstrated experience in building, expanding, and developing high performing Field medical/ MSL teams
  • Experience working with dashboards to generate reports and provide updates on Field Medical activities and KOL insights. Designing dashboards a plus
  • You must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment

The starting base pay range for this position is $258,836.00 - $291,030.00. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
