THE ROLE

As an Operations Analyst at MindsDB, you will play a pivotal role working directly with the founders on a variety of high-impact projects spanning operations, HR, finance, and special initiatives. This unique position offers unparalleled exposure to the inner workings of a fast-growing AI startup, backed by some of the world’s top investors including Benchmark, Mayfield, Y Combinator, and Nvidia.

This role is looking for a candidate based in San Francisco, California. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

  • Special Projects: Collaborate with the founder on strategic initiatives that drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and align with the company’s long-term goals.
  • Vendor & Partnership Management: Assist in managing relationships with vendors, service providers, and external partners to ensure smooth operations.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with the events team to organize internal and external events, such as team meetings, conferences, and off-sites. 
  • Data-Driven Insights: Gather and analyze operational data to inform business strategies, track key performance indicators, and measure the effectiveness of internal processes.
  • Investor Relations: Support the founder with communications, reports, and presentations for investors and stakeholders.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline operations, automate routine tasks, and improve workflows to support scaling efforts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across HR, marketing, Engineering, and product to execute projects that require coordination between departments.
  • Human Resources Support: Contribute to HR processes, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Support financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, providing insights to help guide key business decisions.
  • Operations Management: Assist in designing and implementing operational processes to enhance team efficiency and productivity across various departments.

This role will give you a front-row seat to all facets of the business, offering deep insights and hands-on experience in the operations of a cutting-edge AI startup.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

You will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Experience in Operations or Related Fields: 1-3 years of experience in operations, project management, consulting, or a similar role. Experience in a fast-paced startup environment or the tech/AI industry is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of basic financial principles and experience working with budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. Familiarity with financial modeling in Excel is a must.
  • Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects with shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and cross-functional stakeholders. Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with business tools such as Excel, Google Workspace, and project management software (e.g., Asana). Experience with AI or data analytics tools is an advantage.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives and team members at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Proactive and resourceful in tackling complex problems, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing solutions that drive operational improvements.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Comfortable in a dynamic, rapidly evolving startup environment, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and new challenges.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interest in AI and Technology: A passion for AI, machine learning, and the tech industry. Eagerness to learn and grow within an innovative, AI-driven company.

Nice to have:

  • MBA Degree
  • A technical background, such as a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, is highly advantageous in this role.
  • Experience with SOC 2 and Other Compliance Frameworks (Like ISO 27001)
  • Experience with government programs such as FedRAMP, FISMA etc.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLMs (Large Language Models): A solid understanding of AI technologies, particularly large language models (LLMs)
  • People Management experience

Salary Range

$90,000 - $140,000 USD
