
Director, Scientific Communications & Engagement
Mineralys Therapeutics is a publicly traded, clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing medicines to target diseases driven by abnormally elevated aldosterone. Our initial product candidate, lorundrostat, is a proprietary, orally administered, highly selective aldosterone synthase inhibitor that we are developing for cardiorenal conditions affected by abnormally elevated aldosterone, including hypertension and chronic kidney disease.

Reporting to the Senior Medical Director, Medical Affairs, the Director, Scientific Communications and Engagement will be responsible for development and implementation of medical communications, congress planning, external engagement and development of tactical plans in support of products and development assets across Mineralys’s portfolio. This role will be responsible for engagement with external stakeholders including advisory meetings, physician organizations, societies, advocacy groups, and individual healthcare institutions and providers. You will provide oversight, lead, and manage omni channel scientific communications, medical content creation, and medical education initiatives. You will be responsible for developing, establishing, and managing Mineralys medical Information process and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Medical Affairs team to identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) and develop strategies and tactics to establish and build relationships with those KOL’s
- Develop medical congress strategy and collaborate across Medical Affairs and Clinical Development functions to ensure tactical execution of key congress initiatives.
- Support Mineralys relationships with relevant medical societies and organizations
- Develop relationships with key guideline members, plan and execute strategy as it relates to engagement with HCP’s involved with relevant medical guidelines
- Identify new opportunities and methods for educating HCPs on relevant disease state topics and product specific data
- Foster collaboration across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Corporate Communications, Program Management, and appropriate Commercial teams to ensure strategic alignment across medical communications plans and tactics.
- Oversee the development of disease state and product-specific medical materials such as slide decks, digital materials, training materials, and publication extenders with vendors and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of medical communications trends, best practices, and the evolving medical communications landscape to deliver best-in-class programs.
- Establish and implement Mineralys Medical Information capabilities, process, policies, and management including identifying, onboarding, and managing a Medical Information Call Center
- Lead development of standard and customized medical information content to fulfill unsolicited Medical Information requests in a timely, accurate, thorough, and scientifically balanced manner.
- Responsible for the development of Medical Information materials for internal business partners (e.g., technical response documents, frequently asked questions) that are accurate, relevant, and scientifically balanced.
- Develop annual Medical Communications & Information tactical plan and aligned budget- monitor and manage the assigned budget and relationships with vendors to deliver projects in alignment with timelines and defined objectives.

Qualifications:
- Advanced, medical / scientific doctoral level degree required: MD, PharmD, PhD.
- 10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry with Medical Affairs.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing engagement strategies and tactics for societies, organizations, and individual HCP’s
- 5 years of experience of managing Medical Communications and/or Medical Information teams.
- Product launch experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing publications, medical communications, education, and content creation plans.
- Experience establishing and managing the Medical Information process.
- Demonstrated experience developing Medical Information materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing scientific communications, publications, and medical information vendors.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of medical communications trends, best practices, and the evolving medical communications landscape.
- Experience in identifying, on-boarding, and managing a Medical Information Call Center.
- Thorough understanding of applicable regulatory requirements for Medical Communications and Medical Information personnel and PhRMA guidelines, including geographic regulatory related guidelines.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills required.
Travel: Up to 30% domestic travel, Valid US driver’s license required, ability to travel without restrictions.
This position is eligible for standard Company benefits including medical, dental, vision, time off and 401K, as well as participating in Mineralys incentive plans are contingent on achievement of personal and company performance. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
US Salary Range: $214,776 - $230,813
