
Director, Scientific Communications & Engagement
Mineralys Therapeutics is a publicly traded, clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing medicines to target diseases driven by abnormally elevated aldosterone. Our initial product candidate, lorundrostat, is a proprietary, orally administered, highly selective aldosterone synthase inhibitor that we are developing for cardiorenal conditions affected by abnormally elevated aldosterone, including hypertension and chronic kidney disease.

The Director of Scientific Communications and Engagement is a key partner in the development and implementation of medical communications, congress planning, external scientific engagement, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement strategies, and tactical execution in support of Mineralys Therapeutics’ portfolio. This role will shape how Medical Affairs at Mineralys engages with the medical community, including scientific leaders, professional societies, advocacy groups, and healthcare providers, by driving best-in-class medical education, publications, and omni-channel platforms.
This is a unique opportunity to build and scale the function in a dynamic biotech environment, working cross-functionally across departments to ensure that our scientific story is disseminated with accuracy, impact, and credibility.
Responsibilities
Scientific Communications & Content
- Lead the development of disease-state and product-specific materials (e.g., slide decks, digital tools, publication extenders) in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure the Scientific Communication Platform aligns with Medical Communications objectives through cross-functional collaboration.
- Drive the omni-channel scientific communications strategy in alignment with Medical Affairs and corporate objectives.
- Develop and implement publication plans to support scientific visibility and credibility.
- Stay current on evolving medical communications trends, best practices, and channels to deliver impactful and compliant programs.
Congress & External Engagement
- Develop and execute the medical congress strategy, collaborating with Medical Affairs and Clinical Development to ensure an impactful presence at priority meetings.
- Build and strengthen partnerships with professional societies, advocacy groups, and physician organizations to enhance Mineralys’ scientific visibility and reputation.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with guideline committee members, KOLs, and other scientific leaders through targeted engagement strategies and relationship management.
Strategic Planning & Operations
- Develop and manage the annual Medical Communications & Information tactical plan, including budget oversight and vendor management.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Program Management, Corporate Communications, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment on strategy and execution.
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand scientific engagement and education initiatives.
Medical Information
- Oversee the development of standard and custom responses to unsolicited requests, ensuring all content is scientifically accurate, balanced, and compliant.
- Create and maintain internal Medical Information resources (e.g., FAQs, technical response documents) to support field-based and internal colleagues.

Qualifications
- Advanced medical or scientific degree required: MD, PharmD, or PhD.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech Medical Affairs experience, including 5+ years in Medical Communications.
- Demonstrated success in product launch planning and execution.
- Experience in publications, congress planning, medical education, and omni-channel content strategy.
- Established track record of KOL and society engagement as well as scientific collaboration.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks governing medical communications (e.g., FDA, OIG, PhRMA, and international equivalents).
- Proven ability to establish and manage a Medical Information function, including vendor oversight and call center management (preferred).
Travel: Up to 30% domestic travel, Valid US driver’s license required, ability to travel without restrictions.
This position is eligible for standard Company benefits including medical, dental, vision, time off and 401K, as well as participating in Mineralys incentive plans are contingent on achievement of personal and company performance. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
US Salary Range: $214,776 - $230,813
