We are looking for a Data Architect.

As our Data Architect, you'll be the technical lead for designing, modeling, and evolving the data architecture that powers our core platform and services. You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and DevOps to define scalable, secure, and performant data flows—both for our internal systems and customer-facing infrastructure.

What You Will Do:

  • Architect and evolve our end-to-end data platform, enabling analytics and operational workflows on top of our object storage system using tools like Fivetran, dbt, and BigQuery.
  • Design scalable, performant data models and schema strategies optimized for cloud-native execution in BigQuery, supporting high-throughput ingestion and transformation pipelines.
  • Own and extend our ingestion layer, including the configuration of Fivetran connectors and development of custom connectors to integrate data from proprietary systems.
  • Define and enforce dbt project standards including staging, transformation, and mart layers to ensure modularity, test coverage, and data lineage clarity across teams.
  • Drive observability, governance, and trust in our data ecosystem by implementing validation frameworks, documenting metadata, and integrating with modern BI tools like Looker.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to align data infrastructure decisions with application behavior — ensuring performance, partitioning, and access patterns are tightly coupled to business-critical workloads.
  • Lead with a platform mindset, setting scalable architectural patterns, defining SLAs, and mentoring engineers to embed data best practices across the stack.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • Deep experience designing and operating modern, cloud-native data platforms on Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on BigQuery performance, partitioning, and cost optimization.
  • Proficient with Fivetran, including setup of managed connectors and building custom connectors using the Fivetran Connector SDK and Python.
  • Advanced user of dbt, including model structure, testing, documentation, and deployment workflows across multiple environments.
  • Strong SQL skills, capable of writing efficient, scalable queries and transformations over large datasets.
  • Comfortable with Python scripting for pipeline development, automation, and integration with APIs.
  • Skilled in implementing data governance and observability frameworks, including data validation, SLA monitoring, and access control.
  • Familiar with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines for testing and deploying data models and ingestion logic.
  • Background in distributed systems and object storage, with the ability to optimize for performance and consistency at scale.
  • Effective cross-functional collaborator and mentor, able to align architecture with business goals and raise the data maturity of the organization.
