Sr. UI Designer

MINT MOBILE is seeking a talented Senior UI Designer to join the Marketing Team! Individual reports to Lead, Experience Designer. Role is Remote.  

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior UI Designer, you are critical in shaping our digital web platforms' visual and interactive direction for our brands with aesthetically pleasing and functional UI interfaces. Your ability to work as a team player and value differing perspectives allows you to approach problem-solving with creativity and an open mind. Collaboration is key to ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

  • Collaborate closely with Experience Designers (UX), Digital Designers, Copywriters, Developers, Animators, Project Managers, and Senior Creative Director to ensure designs meet business requirements and align with overall design specifications.
  • Lead the creation of visually stunning and intuitive UI designs, ensuring that every interface element is aligned with the brand’s aesthetic and functional goals.
  • Take ownership of the design process, iterating on concepts to refine and enhance visual designs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Utilize and contribute to our Design Systems, ensuring that all visual elements maintain consistency and coherence across platforms.
  • Present your work and concepts to the team and key stakeholders, effectively communicating design rationale and decision-making process.
  • Conceptualize and integrate user interface animations that enhance interactivity and user engagement, working closely with other teams to bring these concepts to life.
  • Focus on creating high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes that accurately represent the final UI, emphasizing clarity and precision in every detail.
  • Uphold brand consistency and maintain design standards across all projects, ensuring a unified and cohesive visual identity.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, tools, visual design trends, and competitive products to ensure our designs remain cutting-edge.
  • Collaborate, mentor, and guide mid-level and junior-level designers on large projects.
  • Business hours: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Pacific Standard Time.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 4+ years of UI design experience for touch-based mobile interfaces for e-commerce (D2C brands preferred).
  • Strong portfolio with examples of visually compelling and functional UI designs for responsive and mobile websites.
  • Strong ability to empathize with and solve user needs and pain points through visual design.
  • Expert knowledge of visual design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, iconography, and digital image preparation.
  • Expert knowledge of modern UI patterns, elements, interactions, and responsive web design. 
  • Experience with animation tools and a strong affinity for user interface animation to enhance interactivity and user engagement.
  • Ability to articulate the rationale behind design decisions and provide a clear point of view.
  • High proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with diverse team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple design projects of varying sizes without sacrificing quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Understanding of e-commerce best practices.

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $115,000 - $145,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
