Manager, Data Platforms
MINT MOBILE is seeking a talented Manager, Data Platforms to join the Enterprise Information Management in Costa Mesa, CA! Individual reports to AVP, Enterprise Data Engineering & Mgmt Svs. Role is hybrid
This role is a hybrid opportunity that requires a local commutable distance to the HQ Costa Mesa, CA office as needed.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Manager, Data Platforms, you provide a key role within our Enterprise Information Management organization- and an important player across the company. You will be a hands-on contributing manager who will drive the importance of purpose-built data capabilities with a passion for delivering highly scalable, performant and reliable platforms to enable “data-driven” solutions.
Your primary role will be to support, evolve, and deploy the underlying technical infrastructure of the company’s data platform implementations securely working with Engineering & Dev Ops teams.
Your usual day of awesomeness includes:
- Provides strategic leadership and roadmap development for core data platforms to include Snowflake, Colibra, Denodo, DBT, sqlDBM, Looker and Tableau.
- Oversees the operational health, stability and performance of data platforms to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborates with data governance and quality teams to ensure Collibra is configured correctly to effectively catalog data lineage, quality and stewardship.
- Leads the innovation of data platform and integration.
- Enables data insights and analytics through the deployment of assets such as the Snowflake marketplace.
- Manages and mentors a team of platform engineers and analysts to ensure value of deployed platforms is maximized through innovation and efficiency.
- Leads the automation of provisioning to decrease lag time in providing data assets.
- Highly motivated self-learner.
- Responsible for the accuracy, consistency and applicability of the Data Platform team’s deliverables.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Statistics / Math or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience performing data engineering services.
- 2+ years of experience leading technical teams including Agile framework delivery.
- Expertise working with AWS services (Lambda, S3, Glue, Aurora, Dynamo).
- Advanced level Python for data engineering and backend development.
- Expertise Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Experienced with Agile,Scrum, and related tools.
- Has full understanding of SDLC processes and helped extend SDLC.
- Experienced with CI/CD (Git/Bit, CI/CD, Orchestration).
- Experienced with Cloud Warehousing (Snowflake).
- Advance level understanding and execution of Security (IAM, Encryption, Access Controls).
- NoSQL/SQL based and relational databases, especially cloud data warehouse solutions.
- Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- Bonus points for:
- Snowflake
- Airflow/Jenkins
- Containerized service development
- Big Data/Spark ecosystem
- Kafka/Kinesis
- Certifications Preferred:
- AWS (Minimum Developer or Solutions Architect Associate)
- Terraform
- Database Related

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $130,000 - $160,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location. We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.
