
Investment Advisory Analyst

Team
The principal objective of the MIO Advisory Team is to offer unbiased financial advice to McKinsey Partners and build their long-term wealth by constructing appropriate investment portfolios. MIO’s role is to provide our clients with investment counseling and identify appropriate investment products.
Position & primary responsibilities
MIO’s Advisory team is seeking an Investment Advisory Analyst to join our global client-facing group based in New York City. This is not a sales role. Advisors are evaluated based on the quality of advice they provide to their clients and the support they give to internal team members. Specific job functions are as follows:
- Provide investment advice to McKinsey Partners in the U.S.
- Prepare balance sheets
- Respond to client inquiries related to asset allocation and market dynamics
- Research investment products and assess suitability
- Research various investment topics
- Prepare materials for McKinsey pension plan investment board meetings
- Prepare client communication (memos, performance reports, website content, newsletters, etc.)
- Document investment counseling meetings and activities
- Facilitate transactions in MIO investment products
- Coordinate the implementation of MIO investment proposals with external providers as appropriate
Desired background
- Undergraduate or master’s degree from a leading university, preferably in a quantitative, finance, or economics discipline
- 1-2 years of relevant experience working for an investment consulting or wealth management firm
- Demonstrated knowledge of investments, asset allocation, and a strong interest in financial planning and portfolio construction
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and be proactive in engaging with clients
- Integrity and maturity in dealing with confidential financial matters. These attributes are paramount, as direct client interaction is a fundamental aspect of the role
- CFA, CAIA, or CFP designation is a plus; interest in obtaining these qualifications is envisioned to grow in this role
- Completion of the Series 65 exam will be required in the intermediate term
Certain US states require MIO Partners, Inc. to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual’s assigned office location, experience, and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to MIO’s discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance. Base salary range
$80,000 - $80,000 USD
