Position
MIO Partners is seeking a Trade Operations Associate to join the Finance team and support the firm’s trade operations infrastructure and daily processes. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate capture, confirmation, daily pricing, margin processing, and ongoing monitoring of trading activity within the Portfolio Management System (Orchestrade).
The individual will work closely with Trade Operations colleagues and collaborate across Investments, Risk Operations, Finance, and Technology teams to support day-to-day operational processes and strategic infrastructure initiatives. In addition to core operational responsibilities, this role will play an active part in enhancing and optimizing the firm’s trade operations infrastructure, including designing and developing improvements to the portfolio management system and related workflows.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and solutions-driven, with a strong understanding of trade lifecycle management across listed and OTC products. Over time, the successful candidate will have opportunities to expand their responsibilities and contribute more broadly across the team and organization.
Primary responsibilities
- Input and validate listed and OTC trades within the Portfolio Management System (Orchestrade)
- Ensuring accurate downstream trade and position flows to Arcesium
- Process post-trade workflows for OTC and listed securities
- Review, reconcile, and confirm OTC derivative transactions
- Reconcile trades with counterparties, custodians, and prime brokers
- Manage and resolve trade exceptions in coordination with traders, fund administrators, custodians, and counterparties
- Perform position and PnL reconciliations across internal and external systems
- Monitor and process all trade lifecycle events
- Oversee and support the daily pricing and valuation process
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the PMS and related trade operations infrastructure
- Set up and maintain new books, securities, counterparties, and user access within the PMS
- Investigate and resolve complex pricing issues, including analysis of curves, volatility surfaces, and market data flows
- Process internal book transfers and related operational activities
- Assist with onboarding new brokers, trading platforms, counterparties, and operational systems
- Partner with Technology and other Operations colleagues on process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements
Desired background
- 5-10 years of experience in a trade support, middle office, or operations role at a hedge fund, fund administrator, investment manager, or other institutional trading environment
- Strong experience supporting OTC derivatives products, including interest rate swaps and equity-linked swaps, with a thorough understanding of post-trade processing and trade lifecycle management
- Experience with portfolio management systems is required; familiarity with Orchestrade is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to Geneva and/or Arcesium is a plus, but not required
- Intermediate understanding of OTC valuation concepts, including curves, volatility surfaces, hazard rates, and related market data inputs
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Bloomberg are required
- Experience working across multiple operational systems and coordinating with counterparties, custodians, fund administrators, and technology teams in a complex trading environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual’s assigned office location, experience, and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to MIO’s discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance. Base salary range
$145,000 - $145,000 USD
