MiQ Sales Engineering acts as a strategic resource, both internally and externally, to help drive innovation and incubation across our products and analytics offerings in support of commercial objectives. The Sales Engineering team supports our key clients by working to uncover and address their media and business challenges through advanced analytics solutions and new product innovations. Internally, we act as the bridge between commercial teams, product development teams, and execution teams to help guide strategy, lead pitches, scope projects, and deliver better outcomes.

We are seeking a critical thinker for the Associate Sales Engineer position who is able to effectively balance technical feasibility and commercial justification when evaluating a potential client project. Responsible for the Mid-Atlantic South region, you will learn how to identify challenges which can be solved through our existing offerings and help establish MiQ’s differentiated media and tech solutions as the most connected, insightful and actionable across the programmatic landscape. When our existing capabilities aren’t enough, you’ll work collaboratively to scope potential custom analytics solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients and tackle something that’s never been done before.

What you’ll bring  

Strategy & Technical Expertise

  • Understand MiQ’s analytics capabilities, acting as a regional expert on how they can be used to drive better planning, activation, or measurement outcomes
  • Become a subject matter expert for select product verticals which consists of understanding how things work, how they should be sold, and how they can be customized or further developed

PreSales Support

  • Support stakeholders across Sales, Account Management & Sales Strategy teams in your market to help them more effectively win and retain business
  • Identify and qualify analytics opportunities across strategic accounts by uncovering their challenges through client presentations, RFP reviews, or proactive assessment
  • Perform commercial and technical scoping, determining if a project makes sense given a client’s campaign requirements, value to the business, and impact to execution teams

Project Management

  • Collaborate with execution teams, facilitating a comprehensive project handover, and developing technical account plans that drive revenue and strategic client partnerships
  • Maintain a regional tracker to ensure your commercial impact is documented and project statuses are up-to-date

Innovation

  • Uncover gaps in a campaign strategy or the ad-tech industry as a whole, surfacing ideas which could deliver value for our clients and keep MiQ at the forefront in the US market
  • Identify areas of improvement within our team to help us continue to grow and evolve

Responsibility Allocation from Scope: 

  • 50% - Supporting presales and strategy efforts
  • 30% - Supporting project management efforts
  • 10% - Reporting and tracking
  • 10% - Ad hoc work

Required Experience: ( Years experience / systems used / key competencies)  

  • 2+ years in related field, ad tech or ad agency experience preferred
  • Experience in sales, project management, or strategic planning a plus 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to tackle the unknown
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize a varied workload 
  • An interest in ongoing media, ad-tech developments and broader digital marketplace trends
