We are seeking an Innovation Director to join our product team in this newly created role. We need a leader who can provide inspiration and direction to our global multi-disciplinary R&D team in order to invent new solutions which can drive long term revenue growth and strategic advantage for the company.

This new unit within MiQ will operate as part of our product team and R&D efforts will be split between a) long term innovation in emerging ad channels such as AI search and AR/VR, b) medium term innovation that solves our toughest advertiser challenges within the channels we’re already established in, and c) innovating for ourselves - inventing solutions which make working at MiQ a more joyful experience.

As our first Innovation Director, you will:

  • Provide leadership for MiQ’s R&D team by defining and communicating the vision and roadmap for the unit.
  • Collaborate with the with VP Product, CTO & Chief Strategy Officer to identify viable projects, build resource plans, and swiftly deliver, iterate, and refine solutions.
  • Drive the discovery of innovative solutions to address key challenges.
  • Build expertise in emerging ad channels & technologies, sharing insights and knowledge with the broader product team.
  • Define requirements of a client-facing R&D portal & work with the engineering teams to ensure these are implemented correctly.
  • Measure & report the success of R&D projects, support the transition of these into core roadmap once concepts are validated.


 What you’ll bring  

  • An inspiring and collaborative leadership style that fosters enthusiasm and respect from the global technical teams.
  • Significant experience in the digital advertising and adtech space, which is essential.
  • Software development skills, with the ability to prototype solutions, going “toe to toe” with engineers on solution design. Therefore, proficiency in Java, Javascript, Python and knowledge of APIs is highly desirable.
  • A deep curiosity in emerging technologies and ad channels.
  • A willingness to operate with agility, make decisions with imperfect information, learn quickly, and embrace fast failures when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting to clients and sales teams.
