This contract is 2-3 months in duration
THE OPPORTUNITY
Job Summary:
The Benefits Administrator with strong background in benefits will administer the day-to-day operations of our employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other offerings, while leveraging ADP systems for efficient administration. This role ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, provides exceptional support to employees, and works closely with HR, Payroll, and external vendors to optimize the benefits experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Utilize ADP Workforce Now (or other ADP platforms) to manage benefits enrollment, changes, and reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure proper documentation of employee elections and changes.
- Partner with payroll to ensure correct deductions and address any discrepancies.
- Administer leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and others.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of current practices and provide actionable recommendations for improvements
- Collaborate with benefits vendors and carriers to resolve issues, manage invoices, and maintain strong relationships.
- Monitor and analyze benefits trends, providing recommendations to improve program offerings and cost-effectiveness. Provide training to existing team on best practices.
- Prepare and present reports on benefits utilization and costs to HR Director and SVP of Talent
- Additional tasks, projects as assigned by HR Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, with proven expertise in ADP Workforce Now or similar ADP platforms.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits and payroll.
- Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits concepts in a clear, employee-friendly manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with HRIS systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing benefits for multi-state organization.
- Familiarity with leave management processes (e.g., FMLA, state/local leave laws).

Pay Transparency
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York City, MiQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to New York City and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At MiQ, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $34.00-$40.00/hour. This range may vary for positions outside of New York City as it has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled and does not take into account our bonus and commission structures.
