Procedural Asset Engineer

The Opportunity:

Miris is seeking a technically exceptional and creatively driven Procedural Asset Engineer to join our friendly and fully remote R&D team. You will bridge the fast moving radiance field techniques with scalable production practices to make an automated pipeline converting user-supplied images and 3D data into Miris’s proprietary streamable 3D format.

This position blends procedural craft, and asset supervision. You’ll be hands-on in Python and content creation tools building both framework and algorithmic components of the system while guiding visual quality, identifying weak points, and creatively solving for pushing our quality forward. At times you’ll jump into classic production to help bring high-visibility demos across the finish line

What You'll Do:

• Design and build procedural pipelines in Python and DCCs such as Houdini to transform varied inputs into streamable Gaussian splats
• Take responsibility for the visual integrity of generated assets, identifying issues in reconstruction and driving improvements through the system
• Collaborate with research engineers and dev ops to ensure the asset pipeline runs smoothly on cloud compute platforms
• Prototype new procedural techniques for user input conditioning, optimization, compression, and post-processing enhancement
• Explore the parameter space of the asset pipeline to configure it to thrive unsupervised for a wide variety of user inputs
• Occasionally contribute directly to production-style tasks for demo or showcase content, including lookdev and lighting / rendering, 
• Stay current with new radiance field research and procedural generation tools and incorporate them into Miris’s pipeline

What You'll Bring:

• 7+ years in VFX, animation, or game production, with a focus on establishing procedural systems and lead/supervision responsibilities
• Excellent Python development skills
• Extensive experience with Houdini or other procedural production DCCs
• Experience building and maintaining large procedural systems with a record of high throughput
• Rapid prototyping skills for computer graphics point cloud processing and image processing
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with Gaussian splatting or related radiance field techniques
• Experience integrating Houdini workflows into cloud providers or Unity
• Familiar with photogrammetry, point cloud processing, and lookdev workflows
• MLOps experience incorporating machine learning into production pipelines
• Publications in top-tier conferences or journals in related fields (e.g., SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML).
