
Intern, Commercial Supply Chain

POSITION SUMMARY
Mirum is seeking an Intern, International Commercial Supply Chain to support the company’s pediatric and adult rare disease franchises over a 12 week program.
Reporting to the Head of International Supply Chain, this individual will contribute to key initiatives setting up, improving and overseeing Supply Chain processes. This role will provide exposure to all aspects of supply chain and involve collaboration with cross-functional and also external partners. The Intern will gain hands-on experience in establishing and documenting Supply Chain processes, gathering insights from Mirum’s Global Supply Chain Network, and developing resources and tools that help improve processes finally enabling access to therapies for patients with rare diseases.
This is a hybrid position with a required on-site presence in Zug, complemented by the possibility to work from home
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support documentation of supply chain processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Align and harmonize documented processes across internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Quality, Regulatory, Logistics, Finance, Contract Partners)
- Act as a backup for team members by assisting with operational tasks such as order management, shipment tracking, or coordination with logistics providers
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute ideas to increase efficiency and transparency
- Support international product launch Supply Chain activities
- Assist in the setup and continuous improvement of regular meeting structures (e.g., S&OP, vendor calls, planning reviews)
- Help prepare agendas, send meeting invitations, and take meeting minutes
- Track and follow up on action items
- Support the development and maintenance of templates, trackers, and dashboards
- Help ensure data accuracy in supply chain systems and documentation
- Collaborate in cross-functional and international project teams as needed
- Conduct research and benchmarking on best practices in supply chain, planning, or logistics
- Take part in day-to-day operations to gain practical experience and understand the end-to-end supply chain
- Maintain a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative attitude
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- Current enrollment in a Master’s or Graduate level program focused on Supply Chain or related disciplines (like purchasing/sourcing) are preferred
- Experience or coursework in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Familiarity with Supply Chain principles, including logistics.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret processes
- Solution oriented mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to adapt to and pivot quickly as a result of ever changing external and internal pressure points
- Interest in a long-term career within Supply Chain
