Location: Zug | Duration: 10–12 weeks | Summer 2025
This is an excellent and rare opportunity for someone looking to join a dynamic and young biotech company that is currently on an exciting journey of commercializing a new treatment across the world for a debilitating rare pediatric orphan liver disease, changing the world for the better!
We are looking for an energetic, structured and analytical individual to be a part of our international commercial team based in Europe this summer by supporting the implementation of our geographic expansion commercial best practices.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated MBA Intern to join our international team focused on long-term geographic expansion and market opportunity assessment for an asset. This project-based internship will play a critical role in shaping strategic decisions around distribution models, market prioritization, and partnership approaches in the region.
The selected candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and local distributors to analyze market dynamics, evaluate commercial potential across countries, and provide actionable recommendations for long-term planning and go-to-market strategies. You’ll bring strong analytical capabilities, a consulting mindset, and a passion for healthcare innovation to the role.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct market research to evaluate long-term geographical expansion in a region
- Conduct market opportunity assessment for a portfolio asset across distributors and prioritize markets accordingly
- Work cross-functionally with Market Access, Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, and Finance teams
- Engage with distributor partners to gather insights and validate assumptions
- Deliver a final recommendation report and presentation on long-term expansion strategy
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- 5–7 years of professional experience, preferably in healthcare strategy consulting or general consulting, biopharmaceuticals, or related industries
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop insights
- Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable working independently and within cross-cultural, virtual teams
- Ideally fluent in Portuguese; Spanish is a strong asset
- Enrolled in an MBA program during the internship period
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with the Latin American healthcare ecosystem
- Previous experience with geographic expansion projects or distributor models
- Educational background in life sciences, medicine, or pharmacy
- Knowledge of biopharma commercial strategy, launch planning, or partner management
- Exposure to market access, pricing, or regulatory pathways in emerging markets
