
Senior Manager, Clinical Data Engineering & Programming

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Statistical Data Analytics & Programming, the Senior Manager, Clinical Data Engineering & Programming will be responsible for the management and implementation of programming tools in support of multiple drug development programs. The role will be responsible for providing operational oversight and leadership in hands-on programming using SAS, R/Shiny, and/or Python in clinical trial data review and visualization workflows supporting various data driven decision-making processes.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide subject matter expertise and support to project teams on data quality and visualization topics in alignment with project strategies.
• Develop and manage solutions to aid in efficient production of data visualizations, exploratory analyses, and statistical summaries.
• Monitor and evaluate ongoing clinical trial data and contribute to the resolution of data discrepancies.
• Contribute to overall Biometrics group in developing innovative processes to ensure high data quality and efficient reporting of analysis results.
• Take on initiative to stay current on relevant technologies, industry standards and guidelines to improve programming efficiency and facilitate review of clinical trial data.
• Ensure proper filing of study documentation consistent with regulatory compliance and conducive to inspection readiness.
• Perform oversight of external vendor programmers, as needed, to ensure quality and on-time delivery of data solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, data science, or a closely related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience analyzing clinical trial or related datasets using SAS and/or R in biotech/pharma setting.
• Experience in providing technical programming leadership for the purposes of clinical trial data curation, review, and visualization for internal stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Advanced SAS and/or R programming skills in performing data analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in gathering, interpreting, and analyzing data in a research and development setting.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to development rapport among cross-functional stakeholders, and passion to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic programming solutions.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
The salary range for this position is $190,000 to $206,000 USD. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to; skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location. Please note that the required compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits unless otherwise provided.
