
Associate Director, International Commercial Supply Planning

POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director, International Commercial Supply Planning is responsible for leading Mirum’s commercial finished goods supply planning, packaging operations, CPO management, serialization and artwork management processes across international markets. This role ensures uninterrupted, compliant product supply by orchestrating end-to-end planning activities and partnering closely with CMC, Regulatory, Quality, Global Commercial Supply Chain, and external packaging partners. This person will drive continuous improvement, support new product introductions, manage complex jurisdictional requirements, and maintain robust operating processes and systems. This position requires a strategic yet hands-on leader who can thrive in a dynamic environment while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply Planning & CPO Management
- Own the end-to-end international commercial supply planning and packaging process, including management of Mirum’s CPOs and oversight of raw material (Drug Product) allocation based on jurisdictional control requirements.
- Develop and execute packaging plans that ensure uninterrupted product supply, proactively managing replenishments to support global forecasts while optimizing inventory and communicating supply risks and needs across Mirum and CPO partners.
- Manage POs and budget expenses for CPO partners
- Manage logistics flows from CPOs to 3PLs to ensure compliant, timely, and cost-effective distribution.
Artwork, Labeling & Serialization Management
- Lead the international artwork management process, ensuring timely development of compliant artwork aligned with global labeling and worldwide regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Global Labeling and cross-functional teams on regulatory submissions, labeling updates, and product-specific initiatives.
- Oversee serialization requirements for all relevant markets, ensuring accurate generation, application, verification, and data exchange of serialized codes in compliance with global regulations (e.g., EU FMD, DSCSA, and other regional mandates).
- Support labeling, serialization, and packaging inspection/audit-readiness activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Ownership
- Partner with Global Commercial Supply Chain team to continuously optimize S&OP and Global Supply Review (GSR) processes—ensuring no interruptions to international supply while managing allocation and packaging operations.
- Collaborate closely with CMC, Regulatory, and Quality to ensure seamless transition from process validation to commercial packaging; ensure technical requirements are incorporated into routine packaging activities.
- Work with the Supply Chain Ops BPO to establish and maintain commercial supply chain systems and master data, including Kinaxis Maestro® Advanced Planning System.
- Partner with the Supply Chain Ops BPO to draft, implement, and maintain SOPs related to packaging, jurisdictional control, planning, and artwork management.
- Provide cross-functional supply chain support by serving as a backup for other Supply Chain team members when needed, ensuring continuity of operations during peak demand, absence, or critical business needs.
Continuous Improvement & Project Leadership
- Lead and/or participate in supply chain projects and initiatives related to serialization, artwork, packaging, and distribution to enhance supply flow, reduce inventory costs, and improve business processes.
- Support new product introductions and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory requirements that may impact Mirum’s end-to-end supply chain.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- A./B.S. required.
- 7+ years of global supply chain or supply planning experience (including S&OP) within pharmaceutical or biotech operations.
- Experience working with CPOs, 3PLs, vendors, and in serialization and artwork management.
- Strong understanding of labeling and serialization processes and requirements (including cold chain) and trade compliance.
- Experience across end-to-end supply chain processes: forecasting, inventory management, safety stock strategies, jurisdictional control, and artwork/labeling.
- Advanced Planning System experience required (Kinaxis Maestro® strongly preferred).
- APICS, CSCP, or CPIM certification preferred.
- Demonstrated project management, negotiation, cross-functional communication, and/or new product supply chain planning skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end supply planning in a virtual manufacturing environment with CPOs, logistics partners, and 3PLs.
- Agile, proactive mindset with strong judgment and the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations.
- Strong understanding of labeling, serialization processes and requirements, and regulatory expectations supporting global labeling strategies.
- Ability to work independently and drive decisions proactively
- Ability to manage complex product allocations to meet jurisdictional needs.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with CPOs, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Creative problem-solver with the ability to prioritize, re-prioritize, and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to challenge the status quo, propose improvements, and “roll up sleeves” as needed.
