
Intern, Medical Safety

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Summer Intern within Mirum’s Medical Safety Team, you will gain meaningful, real-world exposure to the scientific and operational foundations of medical safety in rare hepatic diseases. You will work alongside experts in medical safety science and operations, contributing to activities that directly impact patient safety, clinical development strategy, and the overall benefit–risk of our therapies.
Under the guidance of Medical Safety leadership, you will primarily support hepatic safety evaluation activities and develop hands-on experience across multiple facets of Medical Safety Science. This includes participating in cross functional and multidisciplinary discussions with teams such as Clinical Development, Biometrics, and Regulatory Affairs, providing you with a comprehensive overview of how safety insights shape decision making throughout the drug development lifecycle.
- This will be a 5 to 6-week assignment, 40 hours/week, paid internship
- Housing costs will not be reimbursed
- Required to be on-site in Foster City, CA
Responsibilities And Main Tasks
- Complete training on GxP regulations, internal quality systems (such as Veeva QMS/QDOC), and Medical Safety related and relevant company procedures
- Support preparation of materials related to our ongoing hepatic review activity
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and capture key takeaways relevant to hepatic safety
- Provide general project and administrative support to the Medical Safety team as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Undergraduate or Graduate student in a scientific or related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint required; advanced Excel skills preferred)
- Interest in hepatology, rare diseases, or pharmacovigilance, is preferred
