Who You Are:
We're looking for a highly skilled and versatile Senior Visual Designer to join our Brand Creative team. This role is ideal for someone with strong visual instincts and the ability to think conceptually while also executing ideas with precision and care. As part of a small and agile team, you’ll help define and elevate our brand across all platforms and channels.
You should be a natural storyteller who can move fluidly between mediums, combining a deep understanding of typography, color, and layout with strong executional skills. We're seeking someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is proactive in their approach, and is excited to contribute to a brand with purpose.
This position will require working out of our Bushwick photo studio once a week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Create thoughtful, effective visual assets across digital campaigns, social media, packaging, internal communications, and photography.
- Partner with the Creative Director and the wider brand and marketing team to develop integrated creative campaigns.
- Plan and lead photo shoots, including shot lists and prop sourcing, with a focus on product and food styling.
- Retouch brand photography and ensure consistent image quality across platforms.
- Maintain and evolve brand guidelines and visual systems.
- Contribute original ideas that advance the brand’s creative vision and meet business goals.
Skills & Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in visual design, ideally with experience in direct-to-consumer brands (agency or in-house).
- A strong portfolio demonstrating polished design work across a variety of formats and platforms.
- Expert understanding of typography, layout, and grid systems.
- Strong understanding of designing for both paid and organic social platforms.
- Confident working on set for photo and video shoots, with a working knowledge of composition, lighting, and prop styling.
- Experience with food styling or a willingness to develop those skills is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and photo retouching tools.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to work cross-functionally and give/receive feedback effectively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Motion design or After Effects experience is a plus.
Details of Position & Benefits:
- Salary range: $85k-95k
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Annual Misfits grocery box credit of $1200 paid in weekly installments
- Life insurance
- Paid vacation time
