Strategic Sourcing Manager

Job Summary:

Mishimoto is looking for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager. In this role you will report to the CPO and bring strategy and your expert skills to our sourcing efforts. You will strengthen our supply plan through a focus on vendor partnerships, risk management, reliability, quality and cost effectiveness.

What You’ll Do:

  • Explore and obtain new sources, methods, and suppliers to ensure a reliable supply of materials.
  • Continuously seek ways to reduce risk, lower costs, and improve quality.
  • Partner cross functionally to find and negotiate cost-saving opportunities with suppliers.
  • Lead our supplier identification, supplier management, supplier negotiation, and supplier development efforts. You will work with and provide direction to existing regional Procurement and QC partners.
  • Ensuring we have multiple sources and redundancy in our supply plan you will work to develop and qualify additional geographically diverse suppliers and reduce risk
  • Partner with Product Engineering and Project Management teams to identify critical supplier capabilities for NPD pipeline and existing SKUs to deliver on time, on cost and on spec raw materials and finished goods.  
  • Establish supplier scorecards, KPI’s, metrics and dashboards to monitor and measure supplier performance. You drive YOY improvement, flag concerns and wins to elevate them to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier rationalization and consolidation.
  • Work with operations and other teams to support logistics and balancing of workloads to achieve company goals
  • Assess supply-chain risks, in particular changes in global dynamics, present proposals for mitigation, and lead the execution of the plan.
  • On-site visits to key potential suppliers during development and on-boarding, and ongoing as needed.
  • Develop, collect, and maintain supplier audit records, supply agreements, and other supplier-related documentation.
  • Creates strategy and objectives for the sourcing function. Identifies and proposes resources required to achieve objectives, thoughtfully considering proposals for internal hiring, 3rd party support, including domestic and international alternatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Creds:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is in Business, Supply Chain, Sourcing or related field.
  • 7+ Years experience in global sourcing and purchasing of manufactured goods
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally. Estimated up to 25% travel required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Extra Credit

  • Understanding of Lean, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma Principles

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Requires flexibility, including hours availability to work outside a Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00 pm schedule as needed.
