Logistics Manager
Job Summary:
Mishimoto is looking for a seasoned Logistics Manager to lead and optimize the movement of inbound and outbound freight across our four warehouse locations. This is a high-impact, onsite role responsible for managing over $5M in annual freight spend, driving meaningful cost savings, and ensuring the efficient use of domestic and international carriers spanning Asia, EMEA, and the US. The ideal candidate brings deep operational expertise, a data-driven mindset, and the executive presence to partner closely with senior leadership. This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain and Distribution with heavy interaction with the CFO and COO, and plays a critical part in scaling our global supply chain.
What You’ll Do
- Own end-to-end logistics operations for inbound and outbound freight across three warehouse locations, ensuring timely, cost-effective movement of goods.
- Manage and optimize $5M+ in annual freight spend through carrier negotiation, route optimization, and strategic sourcing across domestic and international lanes (Asia, EMEA, and US).
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives—benchmarking carrier rates, consolidating shipments, and eliminating inefficiencies across the global freight network.
- Develop and manage carrier relationships and performance scorecards; hold carriers accountable to SLAs, on-time delivery, and damage rates across all trade lanes.
- Oversee customs compliance, import/export documentation, and adherence to international trade regulations for Asia-origin, EMEA, and domestic shipments.
- Partner with Procurement, Operations, and Warehouse teams to align logistics planning with inventory needs and order fulfillment timelines.
- Serve as a key logistics resource to the CFO and COO, providing freight cost analysis, budget forecasts, and strategic recommendations to support executive decision-making.
- Leverage NetSuite (or equivalent ERP) to manage freight transactions, reporting, and logistics data integrity.
- Utilize AI and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Claude) to build dashboards, model freight scenarios, and surface actionable insights for leadership.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using data to reduce transit times, lower costs, and improve service levels across all regions.
- Prepare and present logistics performance reports and cost variance analysis to the Director of Supply Chain and Distribution, CFO, and COO.
- Stay current on global market conditions, carrier capacity, tariffs, fuel surcharges, and regulatory changes affecting international and domestic freight.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Creds:
- 10+ years of progressive logistics management experience, including direct responsibility for multi-site inbound and outbound freight operations.
- Proven track record managing $5M or more in freight spend with demonstrated cost savings outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of domestic (LTL, FTL, parcel) and international freight modes—including ocean and air freight, customs brokerage, and trade lanes across Asia (particularly China), EMEA, and the US.
- Experience navigating international trade compliance, Incoterms, import/export regulations, and country-specific customs requirements across Asia and Europe.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and AI-enabled analytics platforms to drive data-backed decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to present logistics strategy and financial analysis to senior executives (C-suite level).
- Experience managing carrier contracts, RFPs, and freight bid cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
Extra Credit:
- Experience in e-commerce, automotive aftermarket, or consumer goods industries with global sourcing from Asia.
- APICS, CLTD, or other supply chain/logistics certifications.
- Familiarity with freight audit and payment platforms or TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
- Experience managing 3PL relationships across multiple regions.
- Multi-site or multi-region warehouse logistics experience spanning US and international locations.
You are Good At:
- Leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to enhance logistics analysis, scenario planning, and reporting.
- Negotiating – you know how to get value from carrier relationships across Asia, EMEA, and the US without burning bridges.
- Reading data and telling a story with it – dashboards, variance analysis, and freight cost modeling are your comfort zone.
- Managing complexity across multiple sites, regions, carriers, and time zones without losing visibility.
- Translating logistics performance into executive-ready insights for the CFO and COO.
- Building and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships with Operations, Finance, and Procurement.
- Moving fast without sacrificing accuracy – you balance urgency with process discipline.
Who You Are:
- A hands-on operator who thrives on solving complex global logistics problems and isn’t afraid to get into the details.
- Commercially minded – you see every freight dollar as an opportunity to improve margin.
- A clear and confident communicator who can engage credibly with the CFO, COO, and Director of Supply Chain and Distribution.
- Self-motivated and accountable – you own your results and learn from what doesn’t work.
- A natural collaborator who leads cross-functionally with influence, not authority.
- Globally curious – you understand how to navigate the nuances of moving freight across Asia, Europe, and North America.
- Team before myself attitude is a must
- Energized by a fast-growing company where your work directly shapes how the business scales.
If the above describes you and your experience, we want to hear from you!
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- This is a fully onsite role based at our Garnet Valley, PA headquarters.
- Professional office and warehouse environment; standard business hours with flexibility required given global time zones.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and operate standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel to warehouse locations, carrier facilities, or international offices may be required.
