Senior Director, Consumer Product
Mission Lane is combining the power of data, technology, and exceptional service to pave a clear way forward for millions of people on the path to financial success. By attracting top talent and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we’re enabling people to unlock real financial progress. Sound like a mission you can get behind?
We’re looking for a strategic, product-led leader who thrives on building cohesive teams and driving transformative change to join our Product department as Senior Director, Consumer Product.
The impact you’ll make:
You’ll drive forward our mission of empowering people to unlock financial progress by aligning our consumer product team around a shared vision, fostering a culture of professional mastery, and leading our evolution into a product-led powerhouse.
This is an opportunity to be a key architect of the next chapter of growth in a high-impact fintech. You won't just manage a team; you will refine and scale the blueprint for how Mission Lane thinks, builds, and innovates.
As Sr. Director, Consumer Product you will:
- Provide dedicated leadership and mentorship to develop a team of talented Product Managers.
- Define and execute a multi-year product roadmap for customer journeys that serve as a launchpad for potential, focusing on expanding what’s possible for people building better financial futures.
- Partner deeply with senior management across Engineering, Design, Data Science, and our AI/CX teams to ensure every feature is integrated, innovative, and impactful.
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from the "spark" of discovery to post-launch optimization, ensuring we move in weeks, not years.
- Work with abstract ideas and complex situations across functional areas to identify fundamental issues and provide clear strategic direction.
- Step into the arena when needed to provide extra capacity, leading by example to show what "great" looks like.
- Regularly communicate roadmap progress, risks, and performance wins with executive leadership, translating complex technical shifts into clear business value.
You’ll thrive in this role if:
- You anchor decisions in data and analysis.
- You aren't afraid to have candid conversations when the status-quo isn't working.
- You are the person who asks the right questions to get to the root of a problem.
- You take genuine joy in seeing your team succeed and grow.
- You prioritize building trust and unity across the organization.
- You don't just want to ship code; you want to see the tangible value and progress your work creates for customers' lives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years in Product Management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (Director level or above), ideally within fintech or high-growth consumer tech.
- Proven track record of managing complex customer journeys and consolidating product streams into a cohesive, winning vision.
- Demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and up-leveling the skills of high-performing Product Managers.
- A strong background in using data, A/B testing, and performance metrics to drive rapid iterations.
- The ability to simplify complex concepts into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders and represent the organization as a recognized authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading a team through a significant shift in methodology or organizational structure.
- A deep understanding of the challenges faced by consumers in the "credit-builder" space and a passion for social impact.
- Experience operating in an environment that scaled rapidly, managing the ebb-and-flow of a maturing product organization.
Compensation:
Annual full-time starting base salary range: $186,000 - $219,000
This role is eligible for additional compensation in the forms of participation in our annual incentive and equity programs.
Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role. Mission Lane also offers a comprehensive benefits plan, which includes paid time off, 401(k) match, a monthly wellness stipend, health/ dental/ vision insurance options, disability coverage, paid parental leave, flexible spending account (for childcare and healthcare), life insurance, and a remote-friendly work environment.
About Mission Lane:
Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.
It all started with a realization: nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. doesn’t have access to a clear line of credit. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group because they have less-than-perfect credit scores or no scores at all. We decided this just wouldn’t do.
In partnership with our sponsor banks, we offer credit cards under the Mission Lane brand name, with better, clearer terms, and a more refined customer experience than the alternatives available to people working hard to improve their credit. To date, over four million consumers have chosen Mission Lane, earning high customer ratings on Credit Karma for its market segment and industry leading Net Promoter scores.
Mission Lane has cumulatively raised over $600 million of equity from leading investors, including Invus Opportunities, QED Investors, LL Funds, funds affiliated with Oaktree Capital Management, and other leading investors.
Our commitment to a workplace built on respect and dignity is guided by our core value of Unity. We believe that everyone plays a vital role in our shared purpose, and we actively cultivate an environment where all individuals have the opportunity to do their best work. By fostering a culture of empathy and collaboration, we create a strong sense of belonging and support for every team member.
Mission Lane is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status.

Providing any information to Mission Lane that is not completely truthful at any point during the application or hiring process may result in removal from the hiring process, disqualification from future opportunities, withdrawal of an offer or other sanctions for candidates and, in addition for employees, disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
