Role Overview

We seek a proactive, collaborative, and creative Marketing Specialist interested in pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector, who brings an understanding of B2B multi-channel campaigns and is familiar with account-based marketing. The Specialist will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager to execute, support, and build campaigns that accelerate awareness of, and drive leads for, our digital equity broadband program and operations. They will focus on ensuring brand consistency while attracting new customers by experimenting with demand-generation campaigns and messaging frameworks that reach key segments.  The Marketing Specialist needs to be resourceful, adaptable, detail-oriented, and curious about leveraging the latest and emerging marketing technologies.  They should possess excellent verbal and written communication and proofreading skills with an eye for detail and design, and entrepreneurial drive. They will report to the Marketing and Communications Manager.

Job Description

Your day-to-day activities will include coordinating and supporting our overall channel and campaign strategies, including event planning, content development, social media, email, direct marketing, SEO and website oversight, Webinars, and liaising with partners and agencies for website management, video production, and other innovative campaign components. You will also be able to engage with partners, affiliates, and related organizations to maximize relationship and membership benefits and occasionally travel to partner sites or trade events.

  • Event & Trade Show Support
    • Assist in planning and executing pre-, at-, and post-show marketing tactics for events
    • Coordinate logistics and promotional materials to ensure successful participation in trade shows, webinars, and conferences
    • Serve as a liaison between the broadband team and external agencies to ensure alignment in event-related activities
  • Content & Communications
    • Ensure brand consistency and messaging across all channels while monitoring for reputation and risk
    • Proofread and edit marketing content, including emails, blog posts, social media, and press releases
    • Assist in implementing public relations (PR) strategies and crisis response efforts
  • Email Campaigns
    • Execute email campaigns and journeys, including segment copy, deployment and performance tracking.
    • Willing to learn new email platforms, which may include Apollo and Salesforce
  • Social Media
    • Knowledge of LinkedIn and posting oversight, engagement, content scheduling, and support with analytics
    • Knowledge of video editing a plus
  • Direct Marketing
    • Campaign coordination and liaison with internal/external teams to facilitate ABM efforts
  • SEO & Website Oversight
    • Working with our website and research agency, support keyword and content optimization as well as regularly audit for quality
  • Webinars/Speaker Presentations
    • Support speaker outreach, presentation development, platform setup, and promotion
  • Partner/Affiliate/Membership Collaboration
    • Outreach to partners and other groups to maintain communications, relations and membership status
  • Vendor Engagement
    • Liaison with vendors and partners to ensure project needs are met and timely execution of marketing initiatives
    • Work closely with research, sales and customer service teams to capture feedback loops for improved customer experience and self-help resources
    • Track and analyze marketing results to measure success and identify areas for improvement

Experience Qualifications

  • 3+ years in marketing, event management, marketing operations or similar
  • Understanding of target marketing and message segmentation
  • Knowledge of Apollo, other CRM tools and/or multi-channel marketing tactics a plus

Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, Canva, video editing a plus
  • Basic budget governance knowledge
  • Strong creative thinking skills, problem-solving solving and social media savvy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must keep commitments and understand how you contribute to team outcomes
  • Ability to work independently in a remote team environment
  • Must have strong work ethic, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Experience working with schools, libraries, nonprofits, or philanthropic organizations or a passion for digital equity, technology, and social impact is a plus

Salary and Benefits:

  • Annual salary of $60,000 - $64,000 based on experience.
  • Fully paid medical, dental, vision, short/long term disability and life/AD&D insurance
