We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and driven Software Engineer IV at our company. This role is pivotal in architecting and building scalable, reliable systems while proactively modernising our existing codebase, managing technical debt, and rapidly delivering high-quality solutions to meet our evolving customer needs.
As a Software Engineer IV you'll leverage your deep technical expertise and proficiency with the latest AI-driven development tools to drive efficiencies and implement robust, production-ready systems. You’ll actively mentor and guide your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and collaboration.
What You'll Do

Lead by Example:
Write exemplary, clean, maintainable, and scalable code across the full stack, clearly demonstrating best practices and high-quality standards. -
Drive Technical Excellence:
Establish and champion engineering best practices, including coding standards, unit/integration testing, code reviews, and automated deployments, ensuring good code quality and consistency. -
Mentorship and Leadership:
Actively mentor junior developers, conducting detailed code reviews, providing constructive guidance, and fostering continuous learning within the team. -
System Modernisation:
Evaluate, refactor, and enhance legacy systems and existing codebases, balancing the reduction of technical debt with achieving business delivery goals. -
Architectural Design and Decision-Making:
Collaborate closely with technical and product teams to design and implement architecture aligned with our long-term vision, scalability, and customer requirements. -
Automation and CI/CD:
Automate repetitive tasks, integrate infrastructure-as-code practices, and build robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring agile, rapid, and reliable deployments. -
Collaboration and Communication:
Regularly interact with cross-functional stakeholders, clearly communicate technical concepts, propose solutions, present progress, and proactively gather feedback to refine strategies and deliverables.
Required Skills and Experience

Technical Expertise:
- 6+ years of professional full stack software development experience with JavaScript.
- Extensive hands-on experience and flexibility to work with various frameworks such as Node.js, Hapi.js, Sails.js, and Ember.js or other modern frontend frameworks.
- Expert-level proficiency in MongoDB NoSQL modelling, performance tuning, and optimisation strategies.
- Proven full-stack experience in building scalable web applications and robust REST APIs.
- Proficiency with Git, GitHub, pull requests, and code metrics tracking.
- Strong debugging skills, capable of troubleshooting complex issues in production environments.

Infrastructure and Cloud:
- 3+ years of direct hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based solutions using AWS services.
- Solid understanding and experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

AI Leverage:
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to rapidly deliver efficient coding solutions.

Operational Excellence:
- Practical knowledge and experience of what it takes to build, maintain, and support software running successfully in production environments.

Leadership and Mentorship:
- Proven ability to guide and mentor junior team members through code reviews, technical guidance, and career development activities.
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience leading complex projects from inception, including proposing, architecting, and implementing solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally, facilitating effective knowledge sharing among diverse teams.
- Prior work experience in an enterprise-scale, compliance-focused, or regulated environment.
