The Professional Services Sales Manager is responsible for managing all services-related activities throughout the sales process, including participation in pre-sales discussions, early project estimating, scope definition, and development of Statements of Work. This role serves as the central point of coordination between the Services organization and the Subscription Sales team, ensuring that customer expectations, delivery assumptions, and commercial terms are clearly aligned before project kickoff. At the corporate level, the Sales Manager is responsible for communicating services scope, readiness considerations, and implementation requirements across internal teams to support successful deal execution and a smooth transition from sale to delivery. The Sales Manager is a key resource in ensuring services are accurately represented and positioned within the overall customer engagement.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and representative for Professional Services throughout the sales cycle, partnering closely with the Subscription Sales organization.
  • Participate in pre-sales discovery meetings, customer presentations, and solution discussions to ensure services requirements are clearly understood and positioned appropriately.
  • Develop high-level implementation estimates early in the opportunity lifecycle, including effort, timeline, and resource assumptions.
  • Lead the transition from early estimates into formal deliverables, including:
  • Defining project scope
  • Building cost models
  • Documenting assumptions and exclusions
  • Identifying dependencies and risks
  • Own the creation and finalization of Statements of Work (SOWs) and associated services documentation, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and internal delivery standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across:
    • Professional Services Delivery
    • Sales & Account Executives
    • Product Management
    • Legal/Contracts
    • Finance and Deal Desk
  • Ensure services offerings are packaged effectively within subscription deals, supporting accurate forecasting and smooth handoff into delivery.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Mitratech’s legal operations solutions, including:
    • TeamConnect
    • TAP
    • Legal Hold
    • HotDocs
  • Support process improvement efforts related to services quoting, scoping, and sales-to-delivery workflows.
  • Act as an internal advocate for services capacity, delivery readiness, and customer success during deal structuring.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

Required Experience & Background

  • 8–12+ years of experience in a combination of:
    • Professional Services
    • Pre-Sales / Solution Consulting
    • Services Deal Management
    • SaaS Implementation Scoping
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or partnering with subscription-based enterprise software sales teams.
  • Strong expertise in legal operations technology and services, with direct familiarity with:
    • TeamConnect implementations
    • TAP solutions
    • LegalHold deployments
    • HotDocs
  • Proven ability to translate customer needs into structured services scope, estimates, and contractual deliverables.

 

Core Skills

  • Deep understanding of professional services commercial constructs, including:
    • SOW development
    • Fixed-fee vs T&M models
    • Assumptions, exclusions, and change control
  • Excellent communication and executive presence in customer-facing settings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active opportunities simultaneously.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with shared ownership between Sales and Services.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in legal tech, legal operations consulting, or enterprise SaaS delivery.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce opportunity structures and services-related order types.
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise deals involving both subscription and implementation services components.
