Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Data Architect to design and scale the next-generation data platform powering Mitratech’s GRC product suite. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, data modeling, cloud infrastructure, and modern AI-first data foundations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in modern analytics tools and platforms, particularly Snowflake, Terraform, dbt, Airbyte, and Fivetran, combined with expertise in AWS. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our data platform supports the organization’s analytics and business intelligence needs effectively and allows us to scale our solutions and emerging AI use cases across our GRC ecosystem. This is a hands-on role requiring strong ownership, architectural depth, and the ability to partner closely with global stakeholders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Platform Design

• Design and evolve scalable data architectures on Snowflake within AWS
• Define data modeling standards (dimensional, data vault, semantic-ready models)
• Architect unified data foundations across multiple GRC product domains
• Establish best practices for data governance, access control, and data quality

Modern Data Stack Ownership

• Lead implementation and optimization of: dbt for transformation and modular modeling, Airbyte / Fivetran for ingestion, Airflow for orchestration, Terraform for infrastructure-as-code
• Drive CI/CD, DevOps practices, and environment strategy for data platform reliability

AI-First & Workload-Driven Architecture

• Design data models and pipelines optimized for AI/ML workloads and LLM-based use cases
• Enable structured, semantic-ready data layers for conversational analytics and AI-driven insights
• Architect scalable data models and APIs that can support AI-powered product features
• Ensure observability, lineage, and metadata readiness to support intelligent systems

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with US-based product, engineering, clients, and leadership teams
• Translate business requirements from GRC domains into scalable technical solutions
• Drive architectural discussions and influence data strategy decisions

Production Ownership & Governance

• Own reliability, performance optimization, and cost management of the data platform
• Implement monitoring, data quality frameworks, and SLA-driven processes
• Ensure security, compliance, and regulatory alignment for sensitive GRC datasets
  
  

Requirements & Skills

Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
• 8-10 years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Architecture / Cloud Data Platform roles
• Experience designing production-grade, scalable, multi-domain data models
• Proven experience with tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Terraform, Airbyte, and Fivetran
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including infrastructure design and maintenance

Technical Skills: 

• Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling techniques.
• Familiarity with data integration workflows and ETL/ELT best practices
• Experience in DevOps practices and security

Leadership and Collaboration: 

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across technical and business teams
• Proactive problem-solver with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions

Analytical and Process Skills: 

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and system reliability
• Ability to assess platform performance and recommend improvements to meet future requirements

Good to Have

• Experience in Compliance or Enterprise Risk domains
• Exposure to AI/ML workloads, vector storage patterns, or semantic layer design
• Experience with metadata management and data lineage tools
• Familiarity with cost optimization strategies in Snowflake and AWS
