Summary of Role:

As an Automotive Technical Service Representative (Techline Specialist), you will play a critical role in supporting dealership technicians and MMNA field staff by providing expert technical assistance to facilitate the repair of customer vehicles. You will also collaborate closely with the Platform Specialist, offering feedback on emerging issues to enhance vehicle quality and customer responsiveness. Your primary focus will be on improving overall customer satisfaction, vehicle quality, and Initial Quality Study (IQS) performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer Vehicle Tech Line and provide expert assistance to dealership and field staff to facilitate/assist in vehicle repairs.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of all interactions, including vehicle conditions, repairs, deficiencies, and trends. Follow up on cases to ensure issues are resolved and documented comprehensively.
  • Monitor and provide insights on new technical trends and quality issues, helping the team stay ahead of potential challenges and improve service delivery.
  • Provide feedback to the team on dealer and field issues that need to be addressed in order to improve dealership ability to fix vehicles right the first time.
  • Partner with the Product Support Manager to identify training opportunities and participate in relevant training sessions to stay current with industry best practices and technical knowledge.
  • Assist in the development and validation of Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and Tech Talk articles, ensuring accuracy and clarity for field application.
  • Meet stated deadlines while delivering quality results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience in positions such as automotive technical instructor, dealer technician, dealer service manager, etc.
  • AA/AS degree in automotive technology or related technical area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASE Master Technician Certification; L1 (Advanced Performance) Certification.
  • Prior experience as an Automotive Instructor, Field Service Engineer, or equivalent automotive related position.
  • Work hours may be adjusted to accommodate time zone requirements.
  • Must maintain a valid unconditional driver’s license and approved driving record.

Pay Transparency: 

The base salary for this position ranges between $65,000 to $75,000. The base salary will be based on a number of factors including the role offered, the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
