Summary of Role:

We're seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Planner to maintain optimal parts and accessories supply by analyzing demand data, placing strategic purchase orders, and managing inventory levels across distribution centers. You'll ensure timely fulfillment by monitoring supplier performance, expediting critical orders, and proactively resolving supply chain disruptions, particularly during new model launches. This role combines analytical thinking with swift decision-making to meet fill rate goals and maintain exceptional service levels for our dealer network.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze forecasting data for assigned part category and submit vendor purchase orders to maintain consistent inventory levels of service parts and accessories that achieve company KPIs.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet months of supply goal by adjusting order quantities and transferring excess inventory between PDC's.
  • Manage supplier's shipping performance to assure parts are shipped as scheduled to avoid dealer backorders and ensure fill rate goals are met.
  • Expedite orders with suppliers to promptly resolve pipeline shortages due to unexpected ramping demand, spike orders, forecast errors, quality issues, supplier delays and urgent orders.
  • Review customer backorder and parts referral reports daily and take immediate action to fulfill backorders and reduce referred lines.
  • Place initial orders for new model vehicles and expedite shipments to assure parts arrive to the PDCs prior to the new model launches.
  • Report potential shortages, top backorder parts and project updates to management on a weekly basis to ensure proper escalation and prompt resolution of supply issues and project timeline delays.
  • Assist in the analysis process used for scrapping obsolete and excess materials.
  • Perform departmental day to day activities as necessary to ensure the on-time completion of the order release process, backorder, and exception report processes.
  • Define the new model order policies. Ensure the system is updated with the latest parameters to ensure the proper orders are generated and released to suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a distribution environment involved in a forecasting/procurement capacity.
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration/Statistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in inventory planning and deployment in distribution environment.
  • Previous experience with demand planning software packages (Blue Yonder).
  • Ability to analyze complex data to support business decisions.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions.

Pay Transparency: 

The base salary for this position ranges between $65,000 to $70,000. The base salary will be based on a number of factors including the role offered, the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
