About The Job:
This role is responsible for managing the budget for the Marketing and Customer Experience (CX) teams. It plays a critical part in ensuring financial governance, accurate reporting, and compliance across all marketing expenditures. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen and attention to detail, helping to align budgetary decisions with strategic priorities while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Role Summary:
As the lead for accounting and budget management within MMNA’s Marketing Department, this role is pivotal in driving financial clarity and operational efficiency. You’ll be responsible for developing and refining budgeting processes, managing monthly accounting activities, and overseeing purchase order workflows. This position serves as a key liaison between Marketing and cross-functional partners including Finance, Procurement, and Internal Audit, ensuring alignment, compliance, and transparency across all financial operations.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong foundation in financial management, a proactive approach to process improvement, and the ability to navigate cross-departmental collaboration with confidence and professionalism.
This position will report to the Senior Manager, Media & Marketing Intelligence.
As an Accounting Manager, You Will:
Financial System Ownership
- Set up, manage, and maintain the internal financial management and reporting system for the Marketing Department.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to support both financial and functional business needs.
Budget & Forecast Management
- Support the development and ongoing management of Marketing’s annual budget and monthly forecasts.
- Prepare detailed budget and expenditure reports for senior management.
- Complete monthly accounting accruals and forecasts with precision and within deadlines.
Delegation of Authority & Compliance
- Ensure 100% compliance with MMNA’s Delegation of Authority (DOA) policy and all related approval workflows.
- Maintain thorough documentation and approval records to support internal audit requirements.
Purchase Order & Billing Oversight
- Own and manage the full purchase requisition, purchase order, and billing process for Marketing and PR.
- Oversee the Billing mailbox and ensure all vendor invoices and dealer billings are processed accurately and within stated SLAs (net 30 or otherwise).
- Coordinate with Finance and Procurement to ensure timely releases of purchase orders and payments.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain an organized digital filing system of executed contracts, invoices, and financial documentation accessible to other teams.
- Monitor and communicate vendor aging reports with proper justification.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between Marketing and departments such as Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Internal Audit.
- Coordinate with Legal on contract negotiation support and daily contract management activities.
Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor one direct report, fostering their professional growth and development within the Marketing team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Process Optimization
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial reporting, approval workflows, and budget tracking systems.
- Proactively recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Other Responsibilities
- Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.

Measuring Your Momentum:
First 90 Days – Getting Up To Speed:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of MMNA’s financial systems and the structure of the marketing budget.
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders in Finance, Procurement, and Marketing.
- Assume full responsibility for the purchase order and billing workflows.
- Independently prepare and deliver the first monthly accrual and forecast.
- Streamline reporting processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure all vendor invoices are processed within the standard SLA (Net 30).
Year 1 Victory Lap:
- Demonstrate end-to-end accountability for managing the internal financial system supporting Marketing operations.
- Ensure system accuracy and integrity with zero critical errors reported in audits or reviews.
- Achieve and maintain 100% compliance with DoA policies and approval routing protocols.
- No unauthorized spend or workflow deviations across all marketing-related financial transactions.
- Deliver monthly accruals and forecasts with a minimum of 98% accuracy, validated by Finance.
- Submit reports on or before deadlines 100% of the time.
Ready to Join The Team? You Should Have:
- 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, or financial operations.
- Experience managing marketing budgets or working within a marketing finance function.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and corporate financial processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Proven ability to lead and develop team members.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
