Who We Are:

Mitsubishi Motors R&D of America, Inc. (MRDA) is a key subsidiary of Mitsubishi Motors North America dedicated to driving innovation and adapting global vehicles for the US market. Located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, MRDA's team of specialists focuses on monitoring technology trends, conducting market validation tests, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Their work plays a crucial role in bringing Mitsubishi's latest vehicles to American consumers.

Job Summary:

Manage the Human Resources, Administration, Compliance, and Information Technology functions of the organization, including conducting performance appraisals and administering job assignments to subordinates. Provide leadership in the areas of compensation, hiring, benefits and training. Provide leadership in the areas of information technology, including budget preparations and management, recommendations for technical acquisitions, and development of guidelines, standards, and procedures. Serves as the Company’s Compliance Manager, ensuring the Company operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards. Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs, conduct risk assessments, and ensure required controls and procedures are in place and followed. Assist Director in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee manuals/booklets, communications, and/or meetings. Perform all other departmental duties, as directed or assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and manage administration and human resources staff and activities, to include:
  • Policies, procedures, and associate forms
  • Payroll and benefits administration
  • Labor and fringe cost budgets
  • Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring candidates
  • Administering the time off policies (PTO, STD, LTD, FMLA, etc.)
  • Job description updates
  • Performance review program
  • Training
  • Corporate citizenship
  • Well-being program
  • Employee relations, engagement, and satisfaction
  • Coordinates IT related activities with MMNA and oversees execution and maintenance of service agreements.
  • Facilitates information security awareness training for personnel.
  • Facilitates audit activities with internal and external partners.
  • Supervises the ongoing operations of the helpdesk, providing quality and timely support to employees concerning hardware and software needs.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of business continuity and disaster recovery activities in alignment with MMNA and MMC.
  • Oversee IT related aspects of all construction and renovation projects, including acquisitions.
  • Manages all business process compliance activities as directed by senior management.
  • Assist corporate compliance officer in investigations, as necessary.
  • Develop internal controls and policies designed to ensure that all compliance needs are met.
  • Work with department managers to review departmental policies for compliance issues
  • Participates as a member of the Internal Control Committee (ICC) for maintenance of compliance efforts and regular reporting to MMC.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a member of the Managers’ Committee.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned or required.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Human Resources Administration, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of human resources experience.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience.
  • General understanding of employment law.
  • Experience in the management of Information Technology is a plus.
  • Experience with compliance activities.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office products.
  • HR certification is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
